The skmei, I think, use an extra polarizing foil on the LCD screen, which not only lights up the digits, but also during daylight, the digits appears somewhat clearer, sharper or even slightly more fat (illusion). The foils also does that.
My three years old Sanda works fine after changing the CR 2016 battery. When changing the battery i found the seal twisted and disorted but had never any problem with water ingress.
I have the sanda 329 (50mm wide) and the sanda 293 (43mm wide) and they both keep great time. I feel the perfect size for my 7 inch wrist would have been a version between the two sizes at 46.5mm. One feels just too big (like a mini TV screen) and the other like the original DW5600e, too small. I just wish G-shock actually released a new slightly bigger 46.5mm wide DW5600 model. I bet it would be the best selling G-Shock ever.
I got the Sanda "293" and it looks the same of this both watches 😅 but my watch Sanda iluminates the Numbers, not the background like this show in the video. Good review, thanks.
Nitpicking, but the "inspiration" for the design is actually the Casio DW-5600e, not the GW. (hint: the date numbers, solid lines vs dotted; the light button is on the lower right on the Skmei, the Sanda has a different button layout) And as usual they are pretty much a perfect copy of it. Except for the rather crappy resistance. Good watches for the price. (less than 10€ on ebay)
The sanda one has those markings (L M H, SNZ ALM SIG, RECEIVING) for the more advanced functions, like in the actual G-shock square. Are those just fake (decorative) or what?
Hey, have you checked the actual time keeping maybe? Its the same movement, but the difference 9/58 is quite big. Skmei is closer to the truth i guess, since original Casio 5600 is 15/30 sec/month...
Yes, I check actual accuracy of these watches, you can find it at 4:50 time point of this video. Electronic movements aren't accurate on those inexpensive Chinese watches. In my experience (from +-2 sec/month event to +- one minute per month). Time keeping accuracy differs randomly even on with the same movements (electronic or quartz).
Thank you. I had the same doubt, being the same movement and everything. I guess they can vary. Case in point... I have 2 Casio AE1200s that are noticably different, but the funny thing about that watch, is that my SKMEI 1373 is closer to accurate than either of the Casios. All three were set within a few minutes of each other, one at a time so that when finished, all three read identical times down to the exact second when compared to the alarm clock on my phone. If there was any variance, it was imperceivable to the naked eye. I checked at the 1 week, 2 week and 4 week points. The furthest of the 2 Casios had lost 58 seconds, the closer one had lost 14 seconds, while the SKMEI had gained only 6 seconds. Both Casios were model #AE 1200 with module #3299, the only difference being the color... One was black, the other was silver or light gray depending on how you want to look at it. The SKMEI was model #1373. I have a 1382 on order right now, supposedly identical to the 1373 except the bands; one silicone, the other stainless steel. I'm curious to see how the two SKMEIs compare to each other.
Hi check these Skmei models ruclips.net/video/4uA0n-Ly7oE/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/UCBB8ZWek8o/видео.html. yet thera aren't true solar watches.
I can't really see the point of these (if you live in a western country), I mean the dw5600e is around 40 USD, I mean spend/save up a bit more and you'll have a truly classic time piece that will last several decades. However if you lived in a poorer developing country the equation may be different. Thanks for the post
I guess I am hard on watches. I have owned Casio watches for the last 45 years, and I have been happy with them. That said, I typically break the case at the lugs in 3 to 5 years, rendering the watch useless to wear on the wrist. It makes sense to have far cheaper options. I also love my super cheap, Chinese watches.
Weird that neither of them has a countdown timer. I own a CasiOak and a 5600 Square, but I also own a Sanda version of the CasiOak called the 6016. I went on vacation last month and visited the ocean. I decided to take my cheapie Sanda, simply so I wouldn't care if it got lost or broken, and now I prefer that thing to my real Casio. It has all the same functions, and I actually like the backlight on the Sanda more. I put the genuine CasiOak up for sale, since there's no point in owning two. I can't seem to find a cheap suitable replacement for the Square though. There's a ton of these Skmei and Sanda Square clones on Ali, and I can't find a single one with a countdown timer. I guess I could set an alarm every time, but that just seems like a pain. I pretty much always want 15 minutes, so having that timer always in there every time I go to that function is really convenient.
Does anyone know what the springbar size is? I have a jay kay nato strap convert for the Gshock 6900. Trying to see if it will fit since the spring bars have to be much smaller than the overall strap width.
The Sanda probably has one negative side: THE LIGHT, while the Skmei only lights the numbers the Sanda lights the screen... not very good to the battery, so its a draw.
Thanks for the review...👍 just ordered "Sanda 329" after watching the review 🙂
Thanks for watching

SKMEI watches I always liked in quality, never failed, although the mechanism they have is not too accurate
Can definitely confirm Skmei loosing time and Sanda gaining time. Overall both good watches for 10 dollars, certainly look the part.

After approx. 3 years later after the video, how are the watches doing? Are they still working, some broke?
dont have these watches, but have digital skmei 1248 watch, its working 5 years now
SKMEI are always good ( I've had no issues) but Sanda are iffy. Both are Casio DW5600 homages.
Bela comparação amigo, ambos são muito legais. Saudações do Brasil.

Nice watches but I'm having a hard time what to pick between them.... Which do u think is better? I'm considering the Skmei since I own a 2307 model.
I'd say they are even
SANDA 329 is a great watch. i buy mine for around 7 dollars many years ago and used it everyday for 3 years.
thanks for the feedback
@@GedmisLaguna Czy Sanda posiada sygnał dźwiękowy godziny?
There is one point that I consider important.
SKMEI's front screen is made of resin, while SANDA's is made of MINERAL CRYSTAL. The display is clearer.
good point
Could you please make a solo and full review of only the Skmei 1134 model?
Sorry, don't have this model anymore. I covered the man aspects of this watch ins this comparison

По мне у скмеев подложка светлее, значит более контрастный дисплей. Радует глаз отсутствием серого.

Clearly the same, I wonder if there are different grades of it to account for price and accuracy difference.
