- If you are seeing the Xbox controller scheme when using a PS4/PS5 controller on Battlefield 2042, then this video should help you change those settings on Steam. Hello Nightvision_ Awesome video and this used to works but for some reason Steam removed the properties of non-steam games for me. I can only see 1 option in the properties of the game (change the shortcut) but I cannot see anymore the option to disable steam input. Now I cannot use the PS4 controller with battlefield. All the buttons are mess up. Any clues? Thanks!

Still doesnt work bud. I did the first part, reloaded the game and it shows Xbox. When its enabled, I can use my PS4 controller, it just shows an Xbox controller on BF2042s controller config page. When i disable, it does the same, but my inputs are jacked. HELP

One day I was able to plug my PS5 controller into my pc and use it for Battlefield 2042. I had to reinstall WIN10 and now the app only shows an Xbox controller. Any thoughts?

Yes, it only works with wired connection. It’s really weird because I know a lot of people want to use it wirelessly. Hopefully this will change in the future

for me it doesent work for some reason. Whenever i turn force off in the settings, it just changes the game to keyboard settings and i cant even use my controller on that game just keyboard. Idk whats going on but if someone sees this and they know whats wrong please reply
1. What game are you trying this on? If the game does not natively support PS controls then it will not work.
2. This method only works if the controller is plugged in. Wireless functionality is not support unfortunately. If plugged in, make sure you are using a USB 2.0 slot as it may be finicky if using a USB 3.0 slot.

Hello! Sorry for your troubles, have you tried updated the Bluetooth Drivers of your PC? Also, it seems that some controllers do not work, while others do. So if you have an extra one laying around, see if it works. Thanks!

I using DS4Windows to emulate an DS4 , then disable all the controllers options on steam , then my controller works fine with Playstayions promp's using my dualsense with bluetooth connection
The only down side is that DS4windows when emulate an DS4 , it lose the Rumble feature , they know that and say that its something they cant unfix

@@JetstreamSamMGR i see that you have asked another user on here! I'll pray that they reply and you get the answer you need! Sometimes this trick will work with one controller but not the other. It's very weird, and I have experience this myself so if you have another PS4 controller maybe try plugging that in to see if it works? Also, sometimes plugging the controller into a USB 2.0 slot instead of a USB 3.0 slot will make it work properly as well. Good luck!

I'm not sure if there's an option on Epic but if there is, open Steam and on the bottom left corner you should see "Add a Game", click on that and see if it will let you import it from there. Thanks!

I'm using a PS5 controller, I used the 1st and 2nd methods they disabled my controller totally, I entered the game and it only works with keyboard my controller didn't work at it
Hello! Sorry you're having issues! There has been some weird input setting change after the recent Battlefield update and this may be the reason why that is happening. I would suggest also trying the following:
1. Plug the PS5 into a USB 2.0 port and see if that helps
2. If using the Big Picture method, disconnect the keyboard and mouse so that the controller is the only input and see if it's detected after opening the game. If it works, then reconnect keyboard and mouse afterward.
3. If you have a different controller, plug it in and see if it will detect the input. For some weird reason, others have reported that some PS4/5 controllers do not work but when they tried their other controllers it did. I can attest to this.
5. Try connecting the controller through Bluetooth mode and see if it works through the Bluetooth method.
6. If you have any other peripheral, like a foot pedal, disconnect those first then start the game, and see if it works.
This game is really weird when it comes to multiple input detection, and with the recent patch, it seems to have made it worse. I hope one of these additional methods work for you. If so, please let us know which one did the trick! If not... throw the game away. It's not worth the frustration LOL (just kidding)!
@@NightVizion_ lol, It's my bad I didn't mention the game, I was referring to NFS Heat, but I'm facing this problem with every game anyways its not about the game, since I bought the PS5 controller I couldn't ever change the layout of any game to PS its always Xbox, I tried many many solutions and nothing worked, and also I'm using laptop not a PC so probably the only way to disable keyboard and mouse is via Device Manager otherwise I can't unplug them, it's okay tho I lost hope that I would ever play a game on pc with PS layout, its always xbox that works

Hello! I'm glad it worked out for you!! That's an odd issue! Make sure your audio output is set to the proper audio channel. If you're on Windows, right-click the Sound logo on the taskbar and click "Open Sound Settings." Click on "App volume and device preferences" under the Advanced Sound Options tab. Hello sir I have two problems if you could please help me , first one is when I do what you just did my controller does not work in the game but its connected to steam , and does this only work for battlefield or does it work for all games such as batman arkham asylum
Try plugging your controller into a USB 2.0 port. Restart Steam. Also, make sure that you can see a blue dot next to where it says "Playstation" on the Steam Input Status under the Controller Tab. Refer to 00:43 to see what I'm talking about. This should work for any game that has native PS4 controller support. Good luck!

Hello, sorry for your troubles! I just checked, and it looks like it says RDR2 only has partial controller support for Steam and the partial support is for the XBox inputs. I went on the game to try it myself, and you're right, if you set it to "disabled" for this game then it only allows KBM use. Maybe they will patch this in the future seeing as how it's ported to PS4/PS5.

Hello, are you connected with a USB on the SCUF or through BT? Also, I know that BF 2042 has really weird USB input errors, so maybe if you have another connected USB device aside from your SCUF, unplug it then restart the game and see if that works. Let me know if this helps, thank you!
@@NightVizion_ I've tried it both ways, BT and wired USB. I only have two normal USB connections and one USB-C. C is my Arctis 7P dongle, and the normal USB's are the Scuf cable, and the keyboard/mouse input from my KVM switch. unpluged the KVM and still no luck.

@@siimsauman248 the main reason is that if you use ds4 windows with dualsense it shows the option emulated as in which you can configure in-game layout for example it shows 2 option emulated as xbox 360 or PlayStation 4 controller. You cannot do that with dualshock 4

I brought it on origin frist and then I seen you can play with a ps5 controller on steam so I brought the game on steam and transfer the files.

Also, others have suggested that other inputs, such as your mouse, a foot pedal, or other extra peripherals may be interfering with the Main Input (Your PS5 Controller) so maybe try unplugging them one by one and restarting the game each time to see if it helps! 1) In wired connection: PS4 Controller works and I can see also the original PS4 Buttons in Destiny 2
2) in wireless mode: PS4 Controller is detected as a PS4 Controller in Steam/Big Picture, but within Destiny 2 it shows me XBox Controller Layout.

@@rukshantvyas4729 If it's only BF that is not detecting your PS4 controller, then try disconnecting other USB Peripherals to see if that helps. For example, if you use a USB Foot Pedal unplug it before starting the game. Do this one by one until you have found out which one is interfering with the input. If that doesn't work, you could always download and use DS4 Windows. Let me know if this helps. Thanks!
