I’m a huge Sean fan but I feel like it’s been known that he’s a boring fighter. There’s a reason why almost no one can engage with him due to his distance control and awkward style. His skillset makes it really hard for people to get a rhythm which makes people hesitant to engage and he knows it’s dumb for him to stay in the pocket and bang with a lot of these guys since he’s not as athletic as a lot of the higher level guys.
To be fair makhachev had staff. Getting the submission with that is so impressive

The fact that DP gets his back taken and easy outgrappled by everyone (including Chandler/BSD, let alone the 3 title-fights) proves it's not a great win. I get you're making excuses for the champ, but to get in a 5-round war is a bit embarrassing. Also the BSD staph was like a volcano that broke the skin (serious anti-biotics to treat), Makhachev's didn't look so bad

I think Islam smokes Arman but goes to distance and really struggles against Leon. Why? Arman is well rounded but his striking is definitely not on Islam's level. Even though Islam's wrestling and grappling is better too, I think the real difference will present itself in striking and Islam's gonna smoke Arman. Will be easier than this matchup.

Islam just conformed that he did have a staph infection and missed the last week of his training camp....
He said it didn’t affect his training camp whatsoever, Javier Mendez said the same thing. The camp went smoothly and Islam wasn’t on any antibiotics which is what makes fighters fatigue and feel awful like BSD. He said he didn’t train the week he landed in the US that isn’t part of the training camp . No one is training hard 2 weeks out of the fight anyways, and he said it didn’t affect him during the fight.
