    My Doctors had MRI's that showed I had two pinched nerves in my lower back which they never revealed to me as I worked at jumping through the hoops for almost a year and a half. Excruciating pain that didn't allow me to stand even 5 minutes to do my dishes. I would lay on my floor and my dog would spread his body across me, seemingly aware of the level of agony I was experiencing. I even laid down in the Walmart floor the pain became so great. My insurance company had rigid steps I had to take that burned up 2700 dollars jumping through those hoops! Long enough that when the surgery was finally done I was able to get that surgery for free! The American people deserve health care that does not involve the profit centers of insurance companies to override our needs, resulting in suffering, permanent damage to our bodies, or possibly for some, even death before our doctors are allowed to give us the care we pay for monthly to these companies!!!!!! I am surprised there haven't been more acts of violence against such leaders.

      They rejected you for a mammogram???

    • @JanisOnTheFarmette
      @JanisOnTheFarmette 4 дня назад

      @@RefreshingShamrock I’m not the OP, but Aetna has been my health insurance company for more than 10 years. In my experience, Aetna has been one of the better companies for approving mammogram claims so long as preventive care guidelines are met or the doctor recommends the mammogram and the test is performed in-network. They even cover ultrasound and “3D” which some companies won’t cover. Going out of network is where coverage gets tricky and likely very costly for the patient. In network providers agree to a fee schedule. Out of network providers don’t have agreements, will charge what they like, and will look to the patient to pay the difference. Another issue is preventive versus diagnostic screening. The ACA says annual mammograms are covered 100% when done in network usually starting at 35 to 40 years old. The gotcha is that once something is found, the mammogram is no longer considered preventative, but is then considered diagnostic. As you might guess, because we’re talking about the insurance industry, diagnostic tests are not covered 100%. They’re covered after the deductible is met and then often also include coinsurance. I wonder if the claim was truly rejected or if it fell into the category of feeling like it was rejected because it cost a lot more than expected. Splitting hairs, in a way.

      The opportunity to do what you ask was in November. Unfortunately, I'm in Georgia and my U.S. House representative is MAGA. In the email newsletter I received from him last week he was actu a lly bragging about the Republicans implementing their plan to get rid of Obama care once Trump takes office. He was overwhelmingly reelected this past November. Politicians shouldn't have to be inundated with letters to know good vs evil or health vs sickness. But they've been bought and paid for to gaslight us to keep us from having good things.

    For-profit healthcare is fundamentally at odds with the very essence of its purpose: providing care. When profit becomes the priority, the focus shifts from serving patients to serving shareholders. This creates a system where cutting costs, denying claims, and maximizing revenue often take precedence over delivering quality care.
    Healthcare should be about healing, not profiteering. Yet, in a for-profit model, the interests of patients and providers are routinely undermined, as corporations prioritize their bottom line over the well-being of those they claim to serve. This contradiction lies at the heart of why our healthcare system fails so many.
    Furthermore, Doctors in the U.S. are earning significantly less today than they did 20-30 years ago, even when adjusted for inflation. This decline is largely driven by insurance companies, which have slashed reimbursement rates while increasing administrative burdens. Despite rising healthcare costs, much of the revenue is absorbed by insurers and corporate entities, leaving physicians with shrinking salaries and less control over their profession. This trend not only devalues doctors’ work but also threatens the quality of patient care in the long run.

    Our trickle-down economic system has proven that a company cannot make a profit if they actually pay the cost of the health care of their customers. That is why virtually every other advanced country chooses to use government to administer health care. It is about values. What do you value more, money or people? If someone could make money ending poverty and homelessness, we would have no poverty or homelessness. The reason we do is because you can"t make money and we have a culture that values money over people. Greed and selfISHness over generosity and selfLESSness.

    RFK Jr. supports universal healthcare with private options. He has talked about the difficulty of getting universal healthcare passed. Ted Kennedy tried to get universal healthcare (RFK Jr. supported Ted and campaigned for him). The problem has been big businesses fighting against universal coverage, lobbyists affecting politicians, and the public being swayed with the fear tactics of big business. Obamacare, was a small step forward, but it was a small step. RFK Jr's goal is to solve part of our health through better regulation.

    It's like this, guys: Luigi Mangione is a symptom, not a cause. He probably acted violently and publicly, as he did because of his OWN problems getting the coverage he needed. Moreover, bet he listened to endless stories of friends, loved ones, co-workers and comrades who paid monster fees for coverage they could in the end not use because after going for their lungs, so to say... they too were denied. Often on a whim, or a some boneheaded mis spelled AI caprice. I am not in favor of blowing away a CEO. But having been turned away myself from insurers paying for treatments (all of them quite minor)... I can totally relate. And now there has been this absolute TIDAL WAVE of 'me too stories", some of them incredibly tragic, where fellow citizens have actually died, after being told they do not qualify, or will not receive care, due solely to costs....Money is the bottom line. Hello? PATIENT CARE should be the bottom line. Hence, the rage...
