Thanks for the video. i thought I was going stupid as i could not get it to function the same way as you did. As it turns out, my Remote Control is faulty. I pulled it apart and cleaned the carbon tracks with electronic circuit cleaner and presto, it now works. I still ordered a new remote under warranty as i have no idea when it wont work again.
Their remotes are garbage! I have issues with mine as well. Feel like to have to mash the buttons super hard. Has been like that since day one. May call JBL
So here's the thing the lady at JBL said these remotes are not covered under warranty and it was actually in the terms and conditions unless the silly person couldn't be bothered doing their job properly, they actually sent me a link to a third-party version
I don’t understand why they would not be covered under warranty because without these remotes the sound bar is basically useless apart from some basic features. I advise these people the exact same thing but they didn’t want a bar of it. Not very good customer service.

The diffuser came off on my subwoofer JBL Bar 2.1.

Thanks for this. I have the BAR 2.1 I just updated the firmware on mine. It was MCU 40 but it's now MCU 48. I was having an issue with laggy input on the remote volume and also the volume would sometimes spike after a movie was paused. The remote seems to respond faster now, I'll have to watch a movie to see if it does anything different.

Hi，Im trying to upgrade my 3.1,but Im having problems. The display always says "no firmware" after I pressed volume down and power, but I actually put the file (JBLBAR3_1.HUI) in the usb drive. The usb is FAT32 and usb 3.0, I wonder whats the problem? Could please share your experience with me ?
mine isn’t even turning on was working fine last night. i can connect the tv to it from bluetooth but it’s not actually on. like i need my tv to be connected to it on bluetooth. i used to be able to use optical. now i can’t change the bass or anything
Have you tried taking the power cable completely out of the wall socket for 10 minutes on both bar and subwoofer?

My detachable speakers won’t play sound when I disconnect them. They only play when they’re both connected at the same time or when u only disconnect one of them. And are🔋 how can I make both play sound when disconnecting them and want to listen surround

My software is up to date and center speaker never work how to fix it

What does the red light means and how can I get the subwoofer to connect with the bar? I’m going crazy trying to figure it out! Thanks
Thanks for the comments, it can be a little tricky man, use a 3.5mm Male to male cable to connect

other audio like from youtube and DTH is normal....

I noticed my 3 center speaker are not working. I tested in a media market as well, not working. Are yours working?
Artur Zimmermann Yeah my centre channel is working fine however when watching my Apple TV connected through the sound bar on HDMI one the audio cuts in and out and not even JBL have an idea of what’s going on there they clearly haven’t tested it much
There is a way to force central speaker to Play always. Press and hold buttons on thhe bar vol - and source as long as you see on the display BYPASS.

@@merivale1977 i'm afraid that IT is normall... and you have to do this trick every single time when you turn on your bar. but i have to tell that is the way to hear a sound from central speaker only when your sound that you want to Play is not coded in dolby digital. for example in Netflix when you see next to title of the movie "dolby" and you Play IT on your bar should apear "dolby surround" and in that case central speaker is playing automatically. i Hope that will solve your problem. and im sorry for my english, its a little bit rusty.

What about if you don’t have the remote
See, that’s exactly what I said. JBL said the remote is not covered under warranty. I had to go on eBay and purchase a third-party version specifically designed for this sound bar. You can’t do anything without the remote controls very limited functions. You can’t even pair the subwoofer without remote.

Man, that’s a really good question I don’t know if they’re compatible but don’t take my word for it. You might have to contact JBL different frequency maybe a different chip between the devices

MPHxthexLegend Thanks for your comment unfortunately it did not help the issue with the sound cutting out which was very unfortunate
1. Unzip/extract the “JBLBAR3_1.HUI” file and save it onto the main root directory of a USB memory stick
2. Power Off the Bar
3. Connect the unit’s accessory ‘Aux cable’ from the Bar to the subwoofer. On the Bar connect it to the AUX port & on Sub connect it to the ‘SW Upgrade’ port.
4. Attach the USB stick into the Bars USB Input.
5. Power on Bar.
6. From the Bar’s top panel buttons, press and hold simultaneously the VOLUME DOWN & POWER buttons for 5-6 seconds.
Expected Result: The Bar’s VFD will display “UPDATE MODE” for a moment then displays “WAIT”, which indicates the upgrade is in progress.
Note: The update is now in progress and takes roughly 5-6 minutes to complete from this point on.
Do not power off the unit. Leave unit alone and allow it to complete the update

MPHxthexLegend I don’t have an issue with my bar at all when I’m playing PlayStation 4 or other games consoles if I’m watching Netflix or whatever through any of the above machines it’s only when I connect an Apple TV 4K directly to the bar
The issue is not only gaps of audio when theres a break in the movie but it actually has a gap in sound when there is no gaps in the movies audio
There seems to be a lot of people out there with the same issue as mine where this sound bar has an issue with Apple TV I haven’t had the experience fortunately with the sound skipping so to speak with other sources only Apple TV
Actually I have had a very extensive dealing with JBL tech support they really don’t know much about it
I have a funny feeling it may be to do with network connectivity having said that I have a very fast Internet speed but also at the same time I am streaming these movies either from Plex or purchasing them on Apple TV
What I should do is go and purchase a 4K Blu-ray movie somewhere, work out which one of my games machines will play 4K Blu-ray and see if the sound stops then it’s actually a good idea I might try that

Is the soundbar still working fine? Are there any problems with it?
Not really man it’s pretty good still makes a quiet little faintly pops in an out when there’s sort of no sound but you can’t notice it when it’s loud watching a movie
@@ArcadeObsessed Mine pops once when I switch the TV channels for example. But when playing music and watching movies there is no problem. Does your subwoofer everytime pops when there is no audio or only when switching the TV channels for example? How long have you had this problem?
@@ilovecars2765 Mine just faintly pops and I’m talking only the subwoofer sometimes just randomly out of the blue if there’s nothing playing you can hear it faintly it goes pop pop kind of thing even my partners realised that as well I thought a firmware update would fix it JBL don’t know what it is so I sort of just stop caring really it happens a laugh when using a Apple TV
@@ArcadeObsessed I also have the 3.1 and my subwoofer also started popping all of a sudden by itself even when tv was off, so I called JBL Support and told them that my sub had probably a faulty voicecoil or something, they asked me if I had it connected to an Power Outlet, which I did, so they told me to connect it directly to a Wall Outlet and test it for some days and if problem persisted to call them back. I first thought it was bs and they didn't wanted to honor the warranty. But its already been about a year without any pops and its working awesome. So connecting it to the Wall outlet did the trick for me.

hello, am having a remote problem,,when pressing volume up several times and moving to bass up it keeps volume up or down , please help
Tareq Azzouqa You might have to contact JBL in your region look them up through Google jbl.com go through their support pages fill out a ticket in regards to your issue and eventually they will get back to you you may need a new remote depends how long you’ve had it good luck to you hope everything works well
