The box of Whomping Willows I have did not have a locking mechanism for the stick once unfolded. It shot off at an unanticipated angle on my first one I tried. The next one I try I am taping where it bends very stiff

Is there an age limit for lighting fireworks over there?, i started very young under supervision using a punk lighter, there has never been a definite age limit for lighting fireworks over here in the UK, just to buy fireworks which is now 18, when i was young there was no age limit, i was buying them when i was around 6 or 7!, Lucy could start with easy things like sparklers and small novelties as she would get more confidence for lighting the bigger stuff when she gets older, you have so much stuff that is banned over here, fire crackers, girandolas, novelties, parachutes yet we can buy as much 1.3 stuff as we like!, nice to see you are finall getting the big folding stick rockets, we have had them for several years now.
Yeah, I really don’t understand most of the pyro laws. Kinda random! Lucy hasn’t expressed interest in lighting anything yet, but will probably just start with a small novelty. I’m not sure if there is an age law on actually lighting them…just buying them (18). Appreciate the comment! 👊🏽

Yeah - that looks like one of those that was recalled by the CPSC in 2017 because they were overloaded. Very tough find.
