The thing I love most about this channel is Iron Trap Garage does careful, thoughtful rodding of cars that have sat for years or even decades. And the projects are a great homage to classic rods of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. It's great to make a classic car live again, in whatever form.

I just remembered; when I was in the 2nd grade I fell out of a 39 pontiac. The back doors were suicide. My toy sailboat opened the door when I was playing. This was on the 101 hwy just south of Petaluma.. I was allowed to wear my cowboy hat to school to cover the bandages. That was Johnny Nunes's car his wife and my mother and I were going to Novato to see Johnny at their car parts store, Novato Auto Parts. I still remember the doctor trying to get me to think the shot of Novacaine was a mosquito. This was around 1955.

In 1954 one of the boys in auto shop sectioned a '38 Ford. He cut and removed the cowl side vents which is about 3 of so inches. It's a straight cut tho the rear, and matching the back is not any problem. By removing horizontal grill fins things match perfectly. A little measuring will show you how. It's something I always dreamed of doing, but never could find a suitable car.
Something for you to consider now that you already have the windshield chipped. Make it a full on custom.
