I agree, why give help away. The stronger lofts of the 425 are getting very appealing. After gaming the Eye 2s this season, I'm starting to realize I'm sacrificing too much distance when combined with my age. Time to make the move.

Do you feel the i525 fits nicely in-between these? How do you like the i525 vs G425 feel and sound wise? Also, do you feel G425s or i525s hold the greens better? Reason I'm asking is because I currently have g425s in power spec. I probably should've went with standard tbh, but I got them for cheap. Now I'm debating between getting g425s in standard, i525s in standard, or i230s in power.

So the i525 will sit closer to the G425 than it does to the i230 just because the i230 really focuses on the forgiveness and feel whereas the i525 is developed more for speed and distance, not that feel isn't considered but it's not quite prioritised like it is with the i230. The standard 7-irons lofts of i525 and G425 are almost identical too (30.0* and 30* vs 33* in i230 - this is even still 31.5* in power spec) which will narrow this gap and highlights the focus on distance with i525. However i525 does have the same micro max grooves as the i230 that I don't believe the G425 has which should help its consistency in spin and reduce the chances of flyers etc, possibly helping to hold a few more greens. Hope this makes a bit of sense, short answer, yes the i525 fits well and takes the distance benefits of G425 with the consistency of i230 but if you're looking to prioritise feel, maybe a power spec i230 could be a good place to start, or if you're just looking for maximum possible forgiveness then G425 could be favourable

@@GolfShopOnline interesting I would have guessed you’d see more distance between the two with the loft differences

Is the g425 noticeably more forgiving than i230 ? If not, i230 any day

The G425 do provide a bit more forgiveness and ease of launch which allows them to have the stronger lofts but the i230 are still fantastic and the looks are spot on!

It doesn’t go higher for normal handicapper that doesn’t have your speed. Whereas i230 will because of the loft

It depends whether you're matching the number on the bottom of the club or the true loft of the head, you'd be surprised how similar they will be in launch for each golfer, it just may be a bit more easily repeatable with the G425 due to the added forgiveness!

The g425 was awful. I just sold my g425s and bought the i230s. My advice is the get the 230s and if you want to pretend you hit your 7 farther… hit the 6 and pretend it’s a 7. That’s what ping did with the 425s
