The reviews from listeners across the pond are almost universally positive, which makes it even stranger than Quo never broke the US. They were popular on almost every other continent at various points and you'd think that their brand of hard boogie would've gone down a storm in the home of blues rock and southern rock!

Actually, I would love to read some negative comments about 'the worst' Rock band in history. I'm sick of hearing from the sycophants who only make positive comments. They are the biggest con job in music history. They can't find their way to the stage. They make miniature models of Stonehenge. They think that their amplifiers should go up to eleven. Getting into keyboard fights isn't a habit of mine, I posted my thoughts on the music and when a guy referred to me as 'an itch in the milkman's pants' I decided to point out that he was a creep (sorry if not being a fan of blow-job jokes makes me self-righteous). Back in the mid 60's bands like The Who and The Kinks were Punks. I respect their Punk attitude to society, which in the mid 1960's was very conservative. In the very early 60's a band called The Beatles were tearing it up in Hamburg drinking rum n coke and imbibing 'speed'. They were Punks wearing leather clothing until Brian Epstein put them in suits to make them socially acceptable. After QUO's socially acceptable psychedelic period where they wore fancy frilly shirts, they went feral and adopted ' double denim ' clothing. They stuck two fingers up at the 'establishment' and started playin filthy, dirty boogie n blues.
Ma Kellys and Dog of Two Head are two of the best albums ever made, by anyone. A big thank you to "Down The Dustpipe" written by Australian Carl Groszman who was a member of 60s band Steve And The Board. Releasing DUSTPIPE in 1970 as a non-album single was a masterstroke as it kept the band's name in the consciousness of the public, so by the time QUO released PILEDRIVER on 15th December 1972, they exploded onto the mainstream charts. STATUS QUO stand alone as a unique entity and don't belong in the same sentence as any other bands. The most ardent music supporter is a QUO supporter. We know who the greatest Rock band of all time is. Only one Rock band had the best and greatest Rhythm Guitarist of all time. RIP RICK PARFITT.
