He is deeply rooted in gospel music and has many gospel covers in both English and his original language Portuguese. He reportedly has had no formal training he is completely self-taught. Hard to believe particularly because he is always technically spot on. As you said his control is amazing, and the way he seamlessly and effortlessly slips into and out of his vocal registers is also amazing. First time hearing of Gabriel Henrique. His voice is very impressive. Especially having such a strong voice still when singing as high as he did in this video. But to be honest in the beginning there were a tad too many runs for my taste. That's just my personal taste however. And yes the very high notes did take me by surprise as well.
