Mine too, this was my gateway album into a lifetime love of zydeco and cajun music and New Orleans! My other big gateway album was "Louisiana Spice: 25 Years of Louisiana Music on Rounder Records."
@@billwilliams8866 I came here looking specifically for this song over The Big Easy opening credits flyover. 35 years on it is still a remarkable and memorable scene.
I Loved how Zydeco Gris Gris blended in during the beginning credits while an ariel shot from the bayous with houseboats till the ships were lit during the night.

This song is so terrible it almost makes circle into the likeable catagory because everything is so bad. Kinda infectious because its so off key. They should force inmates to listen this over and over. i had this soundtrack on CD when it came out (admittedly, some of the songs on that soundtrack are fabulous), and I finally broke downand pulled it out of my cd player in the shop player when this tune was playing and I ended that disk with power tools right then and there.
This soundtrack is still one of my most favorite albums ever...fantastic from the 1st track to the last.
Hi Peter, this is still my favourite opening to a movie.
@@billwilliams8866 Totally agree. The panning over the bayou just sets the tone for the movie. The pace, the rhythm just captures New Orleans.

I went out and bought the album the next day after seeing the movie❤
Hearing this song play over the opening credits of "The Big Easy" was worth the price of the whole movie.
Just saw The Big Easy for the 1st time last night. Loved it. I have this song stuck in my head now.

Hey Remy, where you at?
Never had much contact with this kinda music prior to this movie, but loved every note, didn't Quaid sing one song on it?
Yeah he sings (and cowrote with Terrance Simien) "Closer to You".
Louisiana is the best place to ever be, bar none
I would love to verify that. Certainly one of the best women i have ever met is from New Orleans. I often think about her
@@JamesPoli Its verified, take my word for it
Good stuff!
Hey Toi, allons dancer !!!

I'd like to see an accurate English translation. As usual Google Translate version is pretty puzzling.

What about the song that plays over the ending credits? It's not on the soundtrack,,,!
Party tune deluxe!
Fuckin' tune
anyone know if this was this on any Beausoleil album or just on the big easy soundtrack
yep, it's the first track on BeauSoleil's 2002 release 'Bayou Boogie.' Highly recommended!

@@garryragan9975 it’s not this version though. Where does this version come from???
@@shaidr 4 years later I still haven't found this version on any other album
Me either. It’s the best version. Maybe it was recorded for the movie?

de gustibus non disputandum est
You must be fun at parties.
It sounds great when you’re on your 18th beer or third bottle of bourbon
