Hi everybody, I'm from Switzerland which means that I live pretty far away from the southern US. But I like to tell you that this version of «Hey Good Lookin'» is the most charming, most gentle, most likeable, most wonderful, most relaxed piece of music I heard since my mother sang me my favorite lullaby.
My old man absolutely loved this band. He was in hospice care at home. Between me and my sister we had set days we started over night at his house to help him and be with him. One Saturday morning PBS had a special on and this song came on. He started moving his feet and head sing this song in his bed. Only a day later he was rushed to the hospital. Where he was called home by his father who sent his angels down to gently lift my father up and carry him home. I’ll never forget this song cause of that. Love ya my man and I miss you
Damn, Buckwheat Zydeco, Dwight Yoakum, and David Hidalgo playing together is some form of musical heaven that I'm always here for. Thank you to all of these people, and to the person who posted this. The power of music has been largely responsible for keeping me in this world since the passing of my wife Karen in 2021. I don't have any great point here, just celebrating music. Peace 💚
Makes me miss Louisiana. Moved to Maine from there. Wow what a change. Weather, food, music etc.... The only thing I don't miss is the heat. But you could say I'm homesick. I already miss Louisiana.. Was my home for 30 years.
I hear ya. A Cajun here & I know God gave us talented musicians & Fabulous cooks & food to make up for dat heat & humidity. Ain't nothing like Cajun Culture & I've traveled to 48 of our 50 states. But boy it's hard to breathe down here 😂😂😂
My Daddy was full Cajun. We lived in Texas and occasionally our kin from Louisiana came to visit with their accordions and those are happy happy memories!
Saw Buckwheat Zydeco do this number in a Long Island, NY venue...He pitted the two sides of the audience "against" each other...Terrific version. This one recalls that great number!
I'm going to FINALLY see Buckwheat IN PERSON at a benefit in Lafayette, LA on November 20th, 2013. It's been on my bucket list for at least 20 years. #SOEXCITED2CBuckwheat!!!!!
Ladies included!! I ve always love to watch Dwight do his Dance!! And that Squeeze Box always has done something Special to Music!! Thank you BUCKWHEAT❤
These artist make this song so much fun. I just love it. The writer wrote so many great songs in his short life that it is nothing short of amazing! It must be a family tradition for the 2 Hanks! Thanks for the post!
What's not to like? Dwight 's tang, Pretty girls. Old Ford Truck, Buckwheat Zydeco doing a kick-ass version of a Hank Sr. tune. I could listen to this all night!
This is one sexy video. OH MY that accordion and that truck, I will be dreaming about you two tonight. Awesome song with Buckwheat, Dwight and David Hilgado from Los Lobos, Love to see that tour
I do remember when CMT (and TNN, MTV, and VH1 too) played music videos. I remember hearing Shania Twain (and a lot of other well known artists) on CMT before anyone knew who she was. I too, loved this song back then and now.
HA! Came here from a link because only the guy in the orange shirt was pictured in the link and I was going to point out that B.Z. is Black! LOL The song is Country and Western. Written by Hank Williams and he wasn't even born in Louisiana (born in Alabama). Although he did seem to have a fondness for La. as noted by a couple of his songs, i.e. his hit Jambalaya. Another C&W link: Guy in the hat is Dwight Yoakam
Up until recently, I used to hear this all the time at Famous Dave's ever since my location opened in 2000. I recognized Dwight Yoakam right away when I first heard it. I actually miss a lot of the blues and Cajun songs that Dave's used to play, and wish they didn't change their music.
Hey guys I'm from Staten Island and remember seeing you guys in late 90's or early 2000's and you guys were great then. I lived in New Orleans for a few years and I'm a musician too. Gotta check out when your playing next
I just love this music I love all your music It makes for HAPPY FEET keep on playing dudes its great From Adelaide Sth Australia wish we had zydeco festivals over here .
Buckwheat was my cousins great grandfather, he is in my videos. My cousin is the guy who helped me make Fort Knoxy and he made LET ME WORK!!. He is a cool guy and his great grandfather is a great singer. It may be hard to believe but i am speaking the truth.
What an awesome find to stumble upon! I completely forgot about this song. Buckwheat Zydeco, Dwight Yoakam and David Hildago! Fun fact, David Hildago (Los Lobos) was the producer for the album. And coincidentally, I just received the newest album from Los Lobos, "Native Sons" yesterday.
Dwight Yoakum was so young & beautiful in this. Buckwheat zydeco is a character, how did he come up with the name? Anybody here old enough to remember the "Little Rascals'" TV show in the 50s? Remember little Buckwheat? He was so funny!
@Charmine 2019 and my world is pretty close to - family/friends, all kinds of shades of skin color and all beautiful cultures and pure good hearts filled with love. peace love and joy ~
One beer and your long play in final day is perfect for relax.
"Buckwheat Zydeco is the stage name of Stanley Dural, Jr. (born November 14, 1947), an American accordionist and zydeco musician. He is one of the few zydeco artists to achieve mainstream success. His music group is formally billed as Buckwheat Zydeco and Ils Son Partis Band, but often they perform as merely Buckwheat Zydeco."
Just found this while looking for New Orleans-related music to celebrate Fat Tuesday-excellent song! Love that it's Buckwheat Zydeco, Dwight Yoakum & David Hidalgo from Los Lobos - cool. : ) Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Hello hi--I'm from Massachusetts, heard there's other places--oh nicely done music there...I've heard they make most delicious food too.
Makes me miss Louisiana. Moved to Maine from there. Wow what a change. Weather, food, music etc.... The only thing I don't miss is the heat. But you could say I'm homesick. I already miss Louisiana.. Was my home for 30 years.

I was in New Orleans and this little Cajun girl asked me, "where you from"? I said, "Nashville". And she said, "ah, up Nawth"!
She didn't say "from up the bayou"? I'm from Louisiana. Lake charles area.
There are no Cajun girls in New Orleans. That's not Acadiana.
I live in New Orleans my whole life and I never meet a Cajun that’s from New Orleans lol
Oh well, the point is, Tennessee folk consider themselves southern. It was odd to called northern.
Kentucky?
Buckwheat, Dwight and David Hidalgo, one of my favorite clips !!!!

LUV this rendition. God, Hank Williams---- his music was either upbeat and happy, or down in the valley sad and lonely. Irish music is like that.
