- 1st gen Mi TV 4 55 (India) - suddenly went dark when watching it - now it does not show a picture - only a black screen. The TV is just over 2 years old. Created a service request with Xiaomi, but no one came to look at the issue.

I have mi tv 4 lm55m5 ab, The tv blink on and off with a vertical black bar in the left side of the screen, what can I do? If I lower the brightness to 2 (low brightness) the tv stop blinking but there still a black vertical bar. What can I do? What do you think is the problem.

I have the same problem when I turn it on it just shows what your screen shows the led works fine (the bottom one) but it won't display anything
It's issue with motherboard - I had my motherboard replaced, but it seems local TV repair centers only have access to unbranded motherboards - after the motherboard was replaced in my TV, picture quality degraded a lot. I ended up selling it for a loss.
Mine is working once in a while then suddenly black screen and again it works sometimes ,sometimes complete black screen only audio plays, I have a feeling a mandatory software update has bricked the TV

Hi, my Mi TV 4S just had the same issue. The screen just went black but there is still audio coming out of the TV. Does anyone knows what went wrong? Is it a blacklight issue or a motherboard issue?

AT LAST REPAIRED. Sorry for the delay. I'm contacted the MI service and they said that the issue is in the display panel (dead pixel or something like that) and the only solution is to replace the panel which cost Rs.35000+gst+service charge. For that amount we get a brand new TV. So I approached a local TV repairing person who is a friend of my cousin. They said it is too risky because of the thin form factor and the display may break during the repairing. Anyway it's dead, so I agreed and TV handed over to them. Luckily it got repaired for under 10000. (Exact repairing cost may vary because he is my cousin's friend) There is minor problems like vertical lines from top to bottom during startup (on the letters mi and other letters in a blank screen). But once a source is connected or a picture/video started it disappears. Some times a blue layer appears for one or two minutes. Otherwise it's normal TV viewing experience and.... it's like a lottery.
They will repaires anyone's TV at your own risk.
BTW, I'm living in Palakkad District, Kerala.

I have the MI TV A Pro 55" and this happens sometimes, usually when i turn off the TV withouth exiting an app (Netflix, RUclips, etc...) and then when i turn it back on i get this black screen.
What i do is:
1) Turn it off
2) Unplug it from the wall socket
3) Plug it back in
4) Turn it back on
So I ALWAYS make sure to close any app before turning it off.
And it works just fine, im guessing this is a software related problem im wishing it can be fix with a later update

@@lenojacob161 if I use my tv 5+ hours then screen starts to turn black, and next day it gets normal

@@aryangautam6642 Not exactly, one day my tv suddenly turned black with sound on, after restarting TV the issue went. After few days, display completely turned black while turning on and no sound also.
After repairing it, I happened to see the same issue once and I am currently reviewing it for few more days. It happens mainly while watching amazon prime videos for me

I found solution for this. Dont change display. I reset the tv bu pressing select button and back button before plugging the tv. Then turn on and wait. And then turn it off aftr some minutes and it wll become good. Its somewhere software glitch. Not display problem at all
So when the tv is unplugged, you press select and back button on remote control? How can the tv receive signal when it is unplugged from the wall power?

Check the pinned comment - it's issue with motherboard - if your local tv repair person can replace the motherboard, most probably it can be brought back to life
i'm also having the same problem. sometimes it was able to boot up and show the display for a few minutes then in black out again but sound is normal. im suspecting on the PSU board which supplies 90v to the LED strips but of course im just guessing. hopefully somebody is able to find the problem.

Even am also facing the same issue. I requested a technician visit and they said the complaint is with its panel and it costs around 25k... Better suggestion is to go for a new TV.. Flipkart is giving 2000 for exchange 🥲. If that's not accepted will end up with 500 for 50000 TV

Never ever buy mi tv....My tv display went Black after 2.5 years of purchase..when I asked mi service centre they said issue is with display and it will cost 80 percent of tv price. I think most of people purchased have same problem.

I bought an iFFALCON 43 inch to replace this MiTV and while the iFFALCON had good picture quality, it started showing reddish shading around the edges of the panels - luckily it was under warranty - got a partial refund and bought an LG now - I'll never touch these Chinese brands again

Before open any option please update all installed app, screen saver off, backlight 80%. Some tv can work after these settings I hope ...,,

Hi my Mi 55 inch sometimes goes suddenly black and once after unplugged power cables. Few minutes after on tv entering mi logo and main menu appears and again goes black. If anyone have solution 🤔 pls let me know.

Same issue for my 4s tv 43 inch. It stoped Working today while watching tv.
Only back light is visable. Sound Working but no image. Tv is only 5 months old..
Hopefully can claim warranty at banggood. But is strange alot of people got this in the last few weeks...
Did you manage to succeed with the Bangood's support service? I personally didn't, they weren't able to solve the issue within Europe, the only solution they offered to me was to send TV back to China (and so I'd be responsible for the shipping fee and probably for the repair fee, too). As an alternative, they offered me $100 refund as compensation, which is too little for the original price. :(
@@matuso77 yeah, they offered me the same thing. I had to refund IT to China. Wich is a hard thing since the package is over 1 meter in length. Alot of shipping compagnies in my country dont allow package bigger 1 meter.
So i accepted the 120 dollar refund.
And i managed to Fix the tv myself with a. Piece of tape.
The faulty hardware was a pin of the tcon board connector. When i cover the faulty pin of the connector with tape the tv gave a signal back!!!
So tv is Working again great! An got back 120$

@@matuso77 yes was sceptic about IT. But i Tried to unplug one part of the tcon board at first to see if one part of the screen came back.
IT didn't, so putted IT back in and disconnect the other cable and i got display at half of the screen.
So that was a sign that one part of the connector was not Working correctly.
So i taped a few of the pins and Just trial and error. At the last i found the 1 pin on the connector that was giving the black screen. So i taped the 1mm of tape to Just cover only that pin and tv is Working again.
If you cover to much pins u Will het descreased image quality. So please try to Fins the correct pin and make the tape as small as possible to cover only that pin!
I made myself some pictures when i did the proces. Maybe i need to make some tutorial for others to try to Fix this error too on RUclips haha.
Tip: the tcon board is located at the Bottom of the Xiaomi tv. Its where the speakers are. Its not located at the middle part, but your have to remove the middle part before you can remove the speakersbar/plastic
