So, this is how I fixed my issue with communication error 8 between 3 different Samsung phones and Uconnect in a 2018 Dodge Challenger. I bought my car in October 2019, and from the start the nav system wasnt working properly. I live in Sweden and the navigation had me in the middle of the ocean outside the coast of norway. Talked to the dealership and agreed on that a software update could solve the issue and it did. At this time everything is working fine, android auto is working fine on a Samsung Galaxy S9 Edge. Now Sweden have seasons so i put the car in a garage between november and march. So i start it again in mid march and immediatly i get android auto communication error 8.on the same phone, a galaxy S9 edge. It feels like I have tried everything and nothing worked. I reset the software, didnt work. I did a factory reset on my phone, it didnt work. I got a completely new phone, a Samsung S20 ultra, still error. I try with a Samsing Xcover 4 and still ge the same error. I take it to the dealership for a software update, and that doesnt fix it either. In the end, today actually.. i simply try to disconnect my battery by removing the minus pole. I keep it disconnected for about 30 seconds and then reconnect it. And would you know... it bloody works. Its a stupid solution imo but i guess by disconnecting the battery you do a reset of the cars electrical system which somehow allows android auto to communicate with the cars software.

Hey guys! It happens because the time and date was changed or doesn't coincide. You must have the same exactly date and time in your device and your car. It worked for me.

hello i have similar problem, but this problem, appear when, dowmgrade the version of AA and dowmgrade the version of Google play service, in the first time, no have problem, but when conected in the second time, appear this error number 8. in another site i look the solution for this problem is changer the version of google play service, put the original version. and next changer with update the original version. what is your opinion about this solution? thank

Did any of you faces issues while connecting to android auto the Bluetooth option does not work and even the touch won't respond to the icon of android auto ,only after disconnecting the usb the Bluetooth pops up .This does not occur for the first time in a row when you connect usb for the 2nd and 3rd time in a day while re-entering the vehicle the system goes through these bugs .My update is the latest as of dec 2019

Android could just add a bypass option. A button that states you understand the risks and wish to continue. It's completely retarded that a date/time discrepancy would completely prevent users from connecting their phone with no bypass.
Try disabling the a2dp bluetooth options and change the time. In my case it helped. Before connecting the phone with a USB cable, I must first turn on the ignition, otherwise I have the same error.

No, unfortunately I still haven't found the root cause - but I think I have a lead - the BCM of facelift Polos in India are different than the pre facelift ones - the facelift version BCM is made in India - I believe these BCMs are incompatible with the 187B, but European BCMs seem to work fine (I tested the same unit in a Pre-FL Polo and it worked without any issues). Replacing the BCM may solve it
@@GGoblin1 Strange, I have a Vento TDI Highline, August 2016 manufactured. I had tried 187B noname variant in my car and it was working. But my car came with 5 inch RCD 330 unit with ISO Quadlock connector from factory. Thanks!

This worked for me: www.clubseatleon.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=126168 , its in Spanish, so basically you need to tune a FM radio station that on their broadcast information has to have the current time, this is because the internal clock of the car set the time through the RADIO, tune the radio for like a minute or 2 then turn off the car, wait another couple minutes and start the car, turn the radio for 5 minutes and the car will update the time, now try again to connect your phone, this worked for me on a Seat Leon FR, MK3, and a Huawei Mate 9, android 8.0, good luck!
Hello, John. I had the same problem in my new VW polo, but this is easy to solve. Despite the car only allows you to change the time on its control panel, you can change the date on the setup of the midia panel... It worked for me, please try.
hello, did you mean to say that date can be changed on the Radio unit itself? I searched through all the settings and was unable to find an option to change the date. Which model year Polo do you have? Maybe your car has the MQB variant of the radio, in which I believe it is possible to set the date.

Kushagr Jain I tried installing this unit on a pre-facelift polo (the one with the red display in the instrument cluster). It worked without any problem in that car. So I'm guessing that the facelift polos instrument cluster is not compatible with this radio. Either that or the BCM on the newer cars are different. My best guess is that changing the instrument cluster to maxidot type might solve this issue. Are you from India? If yes, which car have you installed your radio on? I tried everything . It wasn't until my phone battery died and I plugged it into the charging port that it charged my phone. Upon getting atleast 1 percent that I turned my phone back on while still plugged up that it did a sink to android auto and t worked flawlessly. Ya'll can thank me later.

You can retrofit it to your car - you need to buy the kit with new control module, sensors, wiring and PDC button. Search in team bhp for the guide

Is the part number 6RD035187E? Did you get a chance to try 6RD035187B one?
Tried both 187E and 187B - both are having the same issue (both tested on different polos, so it's not a problem of the car)
