Maison was the first song of the Apocalypse Series. The Apocalypse Series is taking on the topic of Global Warming and in Maison they initiated a challenge to the world to fight and save our home. Vision takes what was sung about in Maison and expands upon it, by showing them taking the lead and telling us they have a Vision that if we all work together to fight against those contributing to climate change, and the fight can be up to the viewer, but as long as they are doing something they can help.
The scene with the red army service uniform is a real set with green screen at the back & the other scene is fully CGI..including the gas-masked enemies figure around them...
Thanks for the Dreamcatcher reaction!! You need to react to their Dystopia Era - "Scream", "BOCA" and "Odd Eye" are incredibly well arranged songs with a lot of use of guitar and drums.
"Vision" is a unique song, especially in K-pop. The penultimate official song. Then came "Reason" for the 6th anniversary of the group on January 13th, 2023. Also very worth listening to. There are now many fan cam recordings of this song from the now completed US tour of the last 3 weeks. It is consistently sung live, with difficult high pitches. And flawless. It's really worth hearing. Thank you for your review of Dreamcatcher in general and "Vision" in particular.
Just to give you a little bit of background info on Dreamcatcher MVs. Chase Me is part of 6-MVs (7 if you include an alternate ending Japanese MV) Nightmare Series. Dystopia Trilogy, which you haven't reacted, is a trilogy that dealt with the social issue of online bullying and hatred. The Apocalypse Trilogy is a trilogy that dealt with saving the planet Earth. Vision is the 2nd part of the trilogy and the consensus is it dealt with war. The 1st part of the trilogy is Maison and it is about saving the Earth environments. Deja Vu is a collaboration with a mobile game called King's Raid. The MV took inspiration from the game story and lores, which is about betrayal.
"Vision" is part 2 of the Apocalypse trilogy. I believe they are showing us the perspective from the future in this series, showing us how the earth looks like when we keep acting like we do. While "Maison" was talking about the destruction of the environment, here they seem to be talking about the destruction due to war. I don't know if that was the idea from the beginning, but Putin's aggression definitely played a role here. In one set they even dance in front of what looks sort of like a huge trident, which is the coat of arms of Ukraine (could be a coincidence though, or this is me seeing things). It could be about North Korea as well after all. It is easy to see how the conflict in Ukraine could result in global destruction. It's just a push of a button away. Note that Dami presses a launch button, but it's not for nukes. It's for spreading their message, their vision. Peace. To be heard all around the world. The song is also a call for action, to stand together against aggressors and those who are destroying the planet out of greed. There is not much difference between someone leading an army or a corporation, if the result is destruction. Still, Dami said the intention is to resolve the problems in a peaceful way. So, what do we do? There is no easy answer. Dami has an outfit that shows that perfectly. One half is an innocent bridal dress, the other half is simply badass. What I know is that any aggressor only listens to very limited diplomacy, and they need to know that the good in the world is ready and willing to fight them if needed. Whoever the aggressor is, we are more than them. They need to know they will never succeed, the only option is peace. By the way, my interpretation could be completely wrong, any other theory is perfectly valid as well. Musically, it's heavier than Maison, and I feel it fits the subject matter very well. It sounds aggressive and heavy, but also soft and vulnerable. There is the duality again. And I love the fake keychange at the end of the chorus, the crazy bass and the guitar in the bridge. All in all this is a fantastic release!
imo Maison as their first part of apocalypse series is directly focusing on global warming problem and more focus into lack of awareness. but for Vision it seems like it's spreaded to the war that make it worse. we can see from the frame before the rap started, the imagery of the war. they released it in October while the war (that one in Europe) happened earlier that year. btw some kpop thing (or krock whatever the genre is) either video or lyric sometimes having dual meaning. even for Chase Me, it can be "translated" to horror thing, specific condition of relationship, or even just themselves gaining fans with their uncommon style of kpop. and it seems dreamcatcher and rolling quartz are the ones who give dual meaning of the song a lot. so it's understandable if not everyone can easily understand, also it never be wrong or right bcs it depends on perspective
dreamcatcher \:D/ they don't say it directly to avoid making it political, but the subtle comments they made and imo it's also fairly clear in the lyrics, it's essentially an anti-war song. the apocalypse trilogy exposes mankind's destructive nature and obviously war is one aspect of it.
You should definitely dive into Dreamcatcher! Probably Maison, the dystopia trilogy, BEcause and also the Japanese releases like no more and Endless night!
