      Use a walking foot and it sounds like you are using the wrong needle. A blue tip stretch needle would solve skipped stitches.

    What is the most AVERAGE needle number to use for a Brother Home Sewing Machine

    • @johanna5688
      @johanna5688 Месяц назад

      Size 14/90. And that goes for all domestic machines. It does depend on the fabric you use. Heavier fabric like denim needs a longer stitch length like 3.5
      A blue tip stretch needle and a walking g foot with good quality thread usually fixes these problems. Top & bobbin thread should be from the same reel of thread.

    Is it possible my machine does not want to sew jersey fabric at all what ever I try and do with the tension it keeps breaking the top thread thanks

    • @johanna5688
      @johanna5688 Месяц назад

      Use a blue tip stretch needle, a stretch stitch and a walking foot. Top & bobbin thread should be from the same spool. Make sure the thread is not old and snaps easily when pulled.

    My upper thread is too tight inspide of my upper tension is loosend to the maximum. Please advise. Thanking you in advance.

    • @johanna5688
      @johanna5688 Месяц назад

      It means your machine has tension problems, like many do, mine included. It needs a service and tell the mechanic the problem. All sewing machines need a regular service, once a year or so, depending how much it's used. If used every day, it may need a service every 6-8 months or so. When something not right, it needs a service.

    • @WonderFilThreads
      @WonderFilThreads  3 года назад +1

      Darn! Is it happening with a particular spool of thread? Sometimes older thread will break more frequently if it's been sitting in a place with a lot of sunlight, was stored in a very humid area, or even a overly dry area.

    My Empisal dress maker doesn't have a horizontal spool. Can these be bought and attached?

    • @WonderFilThreads
      @WonderFilThreads  3 года назад +1

      It might be better to use a thread stand that sits beside your machine. This will allow the thread to draw vertically off the spool and achieve the same purpose as a horizontal spool pin.
