I think Eastman is doing a good job offering very nice guitars at solid price points for folks not wanting to pony up the bucks for a Martin. Eastman guitars and mandolins are great instruments!!

I think there is a lot of value in these guitars. They are getting up there in price, for import, but very well made. With Martin prices growing… they are definitely a consideration.
    Thank you again.

Amazing sounds and feel. Didn’t find these until after I bought a guitar 3x as expensive. Love my guitar but also recognize there’s not a big difference in quality and playability. Really like the TC treated models. Definitely way to go on a budget.

Sounds great. Definitely clear and punchy notes on the dreadnought. Thanks Jeremy and Paul

The dreadnought is great. The OM will surely open up with play time.

I was impressed by the constant good reviews of Eastman guitars and ordered an E20SS with the rosewood back and sides - big disappointment - the wood quality on the back and sides was poor with knots in the side wood. The UK dealer exchanged it for me and the replacement was fine, but such a variation in QC. I would advise anyone thinking of Eastman to buy in person, inspect and play the guitar before they buy.

That’s with any guitar🤦🏾‍♂️ always play in person when making a huge purchase or have a friend look at it

Both sound outstanding - would love to see some head-to-head videos comparing these to their American counterparts.

I love the sound of the dreadnought. The OM sounds a little tinny at this point but once it opens up it should be amazing.

I love my e20 om-tc. I sometimes wonder if I should have ponied up the $ for the Martin but I have zero complaints with the value for the dollar.

These days in my old age I've been preferring smaller bodies, but that dread is damn sweet...Eastman is a decent company, even though they originate in Bejing.

I have an E20OM-TC and it sounds awesome. They are a little overbuilt compared to a Martin so the tone is different. By overbuilt i just mean the top and sides seem thicker and thus the guitar weighs more. This might be done to improve stability over time (less warranty repairs?).

I tend to like rosewood dreads but mahogany on OM...

Played a E10D (which I call mine since thst day) and a corresponding model of the very similar looking American brand back to back. Well, what should I say...If you don't need to have a big name... on the headstock (from afar you can't tell E from M anyway). Cheers

I got the OM20 a couple of months ago - it's a beautiful guitar. Wondering if you fellows have had a chance to compare these to the new Eastman - Bourgeois joint venture - "Touchstones", are they?

There isn't any low end coming through from the OM. Is it that bad?

Noice "Maddy-rondack" guitars very noice! Would be great to compare with comparable Adirondack top Martin's and/or Bourgeois. Like the OM-28 Marquis or Custom shop OM's and dreadnoughts with the adI top

I find that many Eastmans have runout on the top. Is this getting more and more common also with other manufacturers ?

I see a lot of demo videos with fancy back and sides wood figuring, and then when you see the model "live", what's available is pretty mundane in that regard, Is there a trick to finding something with more interesting figuring in the wood, whether from small vendors or big box stores? Or do you just keep passing examples by in the uncertain hope of finding something that really strikes you (sound too, of course)?

  • @blindcanseemusic

They both sound more high frequency than the traditional american brand.

I'm not a Martin-snob by any stretch (I play a Larrivee) but it just goes to show that having the body shape doesn't give the sound as these sound nothing like an OOO or D-xx. The Eastman have this sort of distorted chime that makes me think more of Gibson, although I like the Gibson sound while this is nails on the chalkboard (to me). Waste of Madagascar RW in my humble opinion.
