    Id like to see you go back, see if theres any water. I remember before that dam was built how the water gushed down the riverbed in the spring. It was really something to see.

      I missed out on the tour this year as I already had plans for that day. I too miss seeing that water in the spring under the old bridge.

    Huck, great video! Really impressed, I've never seen the inside or from the top, and this was a very eye-opening video. That water back there looks very tempting!

      Glad you enjoyed it. From what I was told that water behind the dam is somewhat shallow and very warm.

    Thank you for sharing. Do one have to make a reservation to tour this facility? Wonder how much water is behind this dam now?

    Good morning Huck Kenny Sr and I went Sunday for a drive to Jenks Lake and it was a beautiful drive and we loved being back at the lake. Although there were no fish in the lake because of the pandemic they stop stocking the lake we were disappointed. We went to several camp grounds 1 we particularly liked was Barton Flats. We didn't find one with electrical. Do you know of any electrical camp grounds out in that area before Big Bear?

    • @HuckOutdoors
      @HuckOutdoors  4 года назад +1

      I'm not sure of ones that have electrical. Maybe one of the private ones in big bear on the north shore might.

      Hey! Hope you two are doing well! If you get a chance fish the Santa Ana river near the 7 oaks resort, then stop in the resort for a great burger!

    Looked like a good Dam tour. Crazy they made the dam pipes plastic. That's a lot of dam water. You know who had a great beard? The dam tour guide. Damn. Damnit.

  • @TroutWest

    And the mystery is over. You took the dam tour, he was your dam tour guide. Should've asked where you could get some dam bait

    this is Really Cool wow. that dam is Huge! audio sounds fine here just your voice is only coming out of the right side is all... interesting that they build a dam that big just for flood control i was expecting a big reseroir

    • @HuckOutdoors
      @HuckOutdoors  7 лет назад +1

      Yeah for some reason that mic only displays audio out of the right side.

    • @HuckOutdoors

      Yep that will withstand a huge 500 year flood.

    haven't you fished that in a previous video?

    • @HuckOutdoors
      @HuckOutdoors  7 лет назад

      We did fish it from the other side. I have now found out that the water behind the dam is actually quite warm and stagnant, so that may be why we didn't see many fish in there.

  • @kc329191

    Cool trip, is the dam online yet? Or still in preparation?

    • @HuckOutdoors
      @HuckOutdoors  7 лет назад

      It's only used for flood control. Its been high up a few times, but never to full pool. If it ever gets to full pool, we may need to find an ark to ride out the storm in!

    I was always under the impression that this is private, is this public access or is there some sort of fee you need to pay to drive up there?

    • @HuckOutdoors

      This was part of a private tour for fire Lookout volunteers. Contact the yucaipa historical society, as they also do tours from time to time.
