- Demonstrating killing the new Phantom Muspah boss with a low level/gear new Ironman account setup. I kill the Phantom Muspah very easily in black dhide and a rune crossbow, despite not using ranging potions or offensive prayers. Please pardon my mistakes as I don't normally use 5 tick/7 range weapons and am really trash at the game, took a few range hits offprayer and a bunch of avoidable melee damage. Also completely forgot to offtick so I was not actually smite flicking for about 30 seconds.

I strongly recommend NOT using magic at this tier as you simply will not hit.
It's very efficient to kill Phantom Muspah as early as possible before slayer, as the Ancient Icon 1/50 drop is a major upgrade for barrage slaying. It should take about 5 hours to hit the droprate in an absolute worst case setup, while also providing pretty good normal loot.

Thanks for the walkthrough. Still stuck on the quest dying to the boss trying to manage between changing from mage to range build while trying to freeze it. Simplicity is key

Thanks! This helped me get secrets of the north done on first try! I only added a divine ranging pot to help with DPS, and I had Kandarin hard diaries done for higher chance on spec with the bolts:) I got hit quite a lot in the melee phase which kinda sucked
You can also cast greater corruption to do a guaranteed 9 extra prayer point drain for if your sapphire bolts dont proc
Got me to go back and try it again. The 0s on melee phase are still super tilting, but I pulled an ancient icon on kc 2, so I’m outta there! B^)
This seems a lot better than splashing freezes 5 times in a row in full mage gear ;_;
Mage is a complete bait unless you have shadow just bin it
What bolts are using and when are you changing to the others?

You and him were attacking on the same tick so your smites were pretty scuffed, otherwise good kill.

He didn't pot or use offense prayer, 76 ranged with eagle eye and ranging potion is actually higher dps than his setup. If you can get a dragon crossbow and switch to dragon ruby/diamond bolts (keep mith sapph), you can definitely do the boss. He did get pretty lucky with how may procs he got with his ruby bolts though, chance is around 1% to both hit and proc on melee phase.
Prayer/HP can be managed, and defense isn't super important since you can do the stepback method in melee phase and prayer takes care of the rest.
I think you successfully hit the boss 1 out of every 4-5 shots. Boss is fine, just too tanky.
low level setup, maxed combat stats
Says low level but you have 99 prayer so there is no way you don't have 99 range and defense. You also hit several bolt procs and it is safe to assume you have the diaries finished which is another caveat that a mid level player may not have. None of this brings in the factor of how much time you must have played the game and your kill still wasn't clean at all so skill level and experience should be involved in the conversation.
He also didnt pot or use offensive prayers which brings it more inline with what a low levels dps would be. Hours played have nothing to do with the video the bosses mechanics can be learned in 5 minutes then you just need to get comfortable. Theyre never going to release a new boss that you click and afk with no mechanics at all

Just use offensive prayer too. He didn't in this kill. You don't even need to worry about swapping it. Just click and forget it.

After reading this I have come to the conclusion you have no idea how to play the game. Stick to skilling and killing kraken please, you obviously have no concept of progression in this game so why bother trying to pick apart a guide because you're either too lazy or not smart enough to achieve legit one of the easiest hard diaries in the game.
Kinda weird to put ''Low level/Gear ironman'' in your title and then doing it on a maxed account with crappy gear.
