Even though they're vegan, I honestly feel better about my personal food choices when I have a dessert that is vegan. Doesn't always make it healthier, but sometimes it helps. I also find it interesting to go back and forth between vegan and nonvegan recipes to taste the differences
I've found that the eggs seem to be where the difference is most. Subbing plant based ingredients for all but 1 egg seems indistinguishable for me with bread type things.
sunshine babe I know, wasn't saying it's a bad thing. She just said that they "introduced" vegan food while Tasty was doing vegan food for a long time.

1) Vanilla with rainbow sprinkle frosting 2) Red velvet with cream cheese frosting 3) Chocolate with chocolate frosting and sprinkles 4) Pumpkin with maple vanilla frosting
I've been wanting to make little treats for one of the clubs I'm in at school just for fun because why not..anyways some of the people in the club are vegan, so maybe I should make try out some of these recipes 👍🍰
Can't hurt to try! Worst case scenario, you botch them and learn to do better next time. Might be best to make a small batch for yourself first to see how it goes. :)
MagicianFairy Coconut milk? I'd say pea protein milk, cashew milk (my fave), and almond milk. Cashew milk is a teeny tiny bit sweeter than the rest, almond milk is usually nutty, and pea protein milk tastes like regular cows milk.
Folks on plant-based diets, not vegan diets, will sometimes sub out Crisco margarine or shortening. When I can't afford coconut oil, I always use Crisco shortening + canola oil mix in my baking.
I'd add sweetener to it. Cocoa is usually very bitter, nutty, or earthy and adding a type of sweetener be it natural (dates, agave or maple syrup) or with sugar it gives cocoa that signature chocolate taste.
Organic doesn’t mean vegan, just make sure the sugar doesn’t say “processed with bone char” and you’re good lmao. In the US there are a few vegan sugars that are the same price as the bone char sugars, one of the big ones is the brand Zulka. Outside the US as far as I am aware it’s rare for sugar to be processed with bone char to start with.
It was a mistake to watch this at nearly midnight from bed. Now I want, nay, NEED cupcakes! (Although ngl I will never understand the American taste for pumpkin everything...)
Is it as a binder for recipes? If so I'd use a 'flaxseed egg' instead. Ground flax powder and a bit of water give that neccessary gooey consistency needed for binding without the sweetness of, say apple sauce or bananas
Arin Guishard yeah, i’ve tried that too. seems like the moisture from applesauce or bananas is what the flax egg lacks, even when it makes up for the taste. any time i sub in a flax egg i find my baked goods turn out dry. sometimes yogurt/sour cream works for me, especially in cakes, but in brownies and cookies i’ve yet to find a good enough substitute that doesn’t leave them turning hard
Oh that sucks mate, sorry to hear. The only other thing I could think of would be a certified vegan egg substitue like 'follow your heart brand' (or the other veggs whose names I can't place atm) but maybe they'll provide that middle ground?
Maybe you haven’t used enough liquid in your flax meal or chia seed egg ? It usually works perfect for me for binding but for fluffiness purposes I’d recommend also adding aquafaba which sounds gross I know but it mimics egg whites perfectly and gives the baked goods a fluffy and moister texture ! :)
been using the standard 1:3 ratio of flax to water, but maybe i should try adding more water? aquafaba is def intriguing though, i'm gonna have to try it soon
Whenever I make a vegan cake, the cake part always turns out great and delicious but the frosting, there is always something funky about the frosting. I don't know if it is just because of the weird taste of the vegan butter or what but if you have any suggestions, let me know!
The best thing about vegan baking is that u can eat the batter raw if ur too lazy to put it in the oven🤤🤤
Yessss! Frozen vegan cookie dough is LIFE
Be careful if the batter has flour in it though! Raw flour isn’t very safe to consume
You make an entire cake from scratch but feel lazy to put it in the oven??
Jen Klen YOURE SO RIGHT
Bhawna03 lol
i know this isn't related to cupcakes but i've had a vegan donut once and it was one of the best donuts i've ever had not gonna lie
Where did u have the donut ?

make sure to coat the counter and other outside-bowl counter adornments with as much powdered sugar and cocoa powder as possible, for authenticity

i just think it's easier to digest lol
Galaxy Hoodie Guy just because it’s vegan doesn’t mean it’s healthy
FakeRei I don’t think you read my comment very carefully.
better for the environment, animals + you ! ❤️

Never tried vegan cupcakes now I’m into it 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Am I the only one who just...hates sprinkles? I never really like them and I only eat them if I don’t have a choice.
I do too, I never eat them. I hate icing too. o.o Now I think I'm really alone on this.
Milk n Tea There’s not really much of a point of eating cupcakes then... might as well eat muffins instead..
to me sprinkles don't really taste like anything so it doesn't matter
neither does icing, it just feels like bland butter cream
MissAquaGamer I really don't care about it. I don't eat sprinkles :(
Same!! They honestly taste nasty AF
Ahh glad you are introducing recipes that vegans can eat as well!
I'm happy about it, these people are salty for no reason. Even if they aren't vegan I still think people should be open to ideas.
exactly i love this video for obvious reasons
Well I mean they have been doing a lot of vegan recipes lately so...

I love cupcakes! They are fun to decorate. I would eat all of those!

Buzzfeed is the mvp coming through with the vegan food we really need
Ooo vegan baked goods are either cardboard or surprisingly, amazingly delicious 😂❤️
lol truuuuuue
That’s so true!
Moxie Beast ASMR like with most recipes
Moxie Beast ASMR Its depends on who made them..
Most vegan baked goods tend to also be gluten free/allergen free so they kinda have a cardboard texture. Ones made with wheat flour are good though.
“Ohh yesss”
For a second I forgot what *Applesauce* was. 😂

Totally in love with vegan tasty! ❤
Just a heads up if your fussy colouring E120 a form of red food colouring is not vegan as it is derived from cochineal beetles ❤️
Thankfully there are red food colourings that are vegan & substitutes if your area doesn’t stock them
cupcakes look good
You know what ..cupcakes love me every time cupcake go to my mouth .. and I am not be able to stop that

Mmm so good! I juuust made vegan banana bread but Tasty is really testing me right now
Carob powder works as a chocolate powder sub, and carob chips for chocolate chips.
Not vegan or even vegetarian, but a hell of a lot of my friends are. This might just come in handy!
Make sure you use vegan colouring and sprinkles. Red food colouring can contain cochineal.
i love this

I'll try it
The first step in pretty much all of the cupcakes is to make coconut snow
im not a vegan but i would definitely eat all of them . im gonna make them for my lactose intolerant sister in law too . wohoo!
@davidseymour please try to do this!
Is the lemon zest for flavor only or does it do something chemically special to the cupcakes like the almond milk-lemon juice combo?
@Ish N. I know that adding lemon juice to vegan milk makes vegan buttermilk, so perhaps that, or just for a taste boost since it's zest
Okay. I figured the nondairy milk and lemon juice alone were enough to create the “buttermilk”.
Love the recipes
Looking good cupcake🍴🍹
I wish I can eat them now
YAS CUPCAKES

Just in time for bake off vegan week!!
I don’t mean to be that person but these are not vegan in if they have red food dye or red sprinkles because the red color comes from beetles
Whats a good substitute for coconut please?
MagicianFairy Coconut milk? I'd say pea protein milk, cashew milk (my fave), and almond milk. Cashew milk is a teeny tiny bit sweeter than the rest, almond milk is usually nutty, and pea protein milk tastes like regular cows milk.

If I use unsweetened cocoa, will the cupcake still have flavor?
I'd add sweetener to it. Cocoa is usually very bitter, nutty, or earthy and adding a type of sweetener be it natural (dates, agave or maple syrup) or with sugar it gives cocoa that signature chocolate taste.

every time i try to replace eggs with applesauce (unsweetened even!) whatever i make still tastes like apples
