Rapid City was where we stayed but traveled to Mount Rushmore, Devil's Tower and Deadwood (for Buffalo Bill's and Calamity Jane's grave sites). Travel late fall or very early spring to avoid the crowds. Hotel Alex Johnson is the place to stay. Hat tip to Tristan for recommending.
Where is Doty Springs Trail? As a newbie, love the scenery/drives, hikes, and wildlife? Saw the Bighorn Sheep herd on Jackson/44 by the fishery for the first time yesterday. Amazing how they are essentially “in town”.
It's Caves Creek Trailhead on google. Apparently they changed the name and didn't tell me...or I've always been wrong. haha I haven't seen the bighorns there in years - they used to hang out up the hill in that property with the big yard (near the spanish looking home). It's cool to see them along the road again!
Very nice! One thing I would add are the roads in the hills are usually in great shape. Car rides and for me motorcycling doesn’t get any better!
That's cause we always have construction season in the summer time. hahaha
Currently stationed at Cannon AFB and desperately hoping we get orders to Rapid City! Love your videos 😊
It's a good life over here! 😎 If you get the go ahead, gimme a call and we'll get on it. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it. 🙏
@@TristanEmond Thank you!

Glad you enjoyed your trip and the time frame! We have some pretty amazing springs and falls...if it doesn't snow. 😁
Great video Tristan!
Your pitching is so good
I think you would make a
fine Governor of
South Dakota!!!
Well thank you! I'll pass on the whole political game though. 😂😂
It's an acquired taste ...
...give it some time🐸

Thinking about moving there from the 4 corners area by 2025. it will be my first big move away from family does anyone got any wisdom to share?😂
I've helped a number of people move to the area. Bunch of videos since 2020 to help you out - they should be a big help to you.
