There are so many imports into the US that are going to cost Americans at least 25% more that they must have. This will only ignite inflation in America. It will not fix anything at the border.
The drug problem exists is because there is so much money to be made and so easy. For some people they deal in drugs because they can't get a job. Biden created over 14 MILLION new jobs. Certainly this helps to reduce the number of people dealing in drugs.

I think Trump might be willing to make a trade deal with the UK. It will fund his tax cuts, (not entirely), but it will also mean that cheaper products imported from outside of the USA will become too expensive to buy, and that means people will be spending their money on more expensive products from within the USA. I voted for him because he said he was using tariffs as a bargaining chip, (and because unrealized capital gains tax would be horrific from Harris), but if he does do sweeping tariffs without any negotiations then that would be very bad for us

USA is a consumer economy and Mexico is a producer economy. USA has the upper hand here. The threat of Tariffs alone will create a ripple affect of uncertainty in the business world of Mexico, causing contracts to be avoided until business has certainty. The result will be a flood of unemployment in Mexico, civil unrest, and overwhelmed social system. Than Trump can immediately remove the Tariffs, but the damage to Mexico is already done.
