    I'm going to just throw this here. People want deflation desperately in eve. People simultaneously have no idea how deflation will feel in eve as it happens. The closest analog will be the crude oil market. The moment prices fall producers lose their hats and their minds.

      My question is this….
      If the game is linked through plex to real world currency. Real world
      Currency is almost now at a hyperinflation level , so do you think that this inflation can translate into eve somehow this way? Or is it all just inside of eves economy. Btw been playing now for 18 years! Would love your thoughts or anyone else reading this. Thx

      Scarcity was put in place to make this happen. Scarcity has been in place for nearly a decade now. It is not working. You can't starve your players in an effort to curb inflation indefinitely. Just look at Pochven. Pochven is very active because you have a resource worth fighting over. For nearly a decade CCP has made null sec worthless. And as a result nobody is engaging in meaningful activity in null sec. This expansion does NOTHING to change that trajectory. It had potential, but has failed to deliver.

      CCP has been implementing their plan to deflate prices for nearly a decade. Scarcity is not working. It is just pushing players out of the game at this point.

    Equinox seems like such a slap in the face. We keep hearing about future improvements but ccp have basically said ratting will essentially be as it was before the ‘reinvigoration’.
    They should have just specified that the reinvigoration side was for small gangers & day trippers,not the people who live out there.
    Rhetoric is key to managing expectations. If they had used any word other than reinvigoration or just flat out said it wasn’t for the denizens of null, things would have played out differently.

    31:00 "1 dread is worth 5 marauders" uh, no ? C5 ratting marauders are without exception all worth north of 3bil isk pod included (you better believe a marauder getting caught is going to lose his pod too), paladins being closer to 5bil for the ones that can run every site. a single ratting dread, is usually worth 6 bil ? sometimes faction dreads go up to 10bil, not more though.
    It's just wrong to think more marauder deaths is worth less than more dread deaths. Nowadays, C5 marauders are worth about half a dread, at best.
    30:20 "some wormholers want dreads to return" i have yet to meet someone who agrees with that statement lmao.
    I love the Oz reports, but the interpretation on jspace meta from these null guys just goes to show how out of touch with jspace CCP is.
    I'm done bitching about this now, i just hope they leave jspace alone for the next 10 years, all they seem to do is try to nerf it to the ground.

    The problem that I have with your analysis is that you want to apply real world economic concepts to a video game economy. They are not the same. Some concepts may generally apply, but you also have some things simply can't apply. Three MAJOR differences would be 1. Destruction in a video game. There is no equivalent in the real world. 2. Consistency. CCP can arbitrarily increase or decrease resource availability. That doesn't really happen in the real world. In addition to CCP playing with resource availability, you also have a large amount of volatility in consumer base. In the real world you don't have people that simply don't log in for months at a time. If a player chooses not to log into a video game all of their resources are effectively removed from the game during that time frame. In the real world assets don't operate like this. At the very least, not with this frequency. 3. In the real world you don't have a random person capable of purchasing plex and suddenly being able to offset the hours of man ours required to produce the resources that they will be consuming.
    The bottom line is that inflation can be driven by factors that "economists" aren't accustomed to monitoring. In the real world there is regulation to avoid things like price gouging. In a video game, not so much. I am of the opinion that the large part of inflation in EVE online is more due to CCP restricting resources, than people having an abundance of isk with nothing to spend it on.

    • @OZeve
      @OZeve  26 дней назад

      Thanks for sharing your point of view. I understand your issues with my analysis. While I agree with you that the factors in game are completely different to the real world, you cannot deny that ISK supply has a direct relation to inflation in game. Even if there are also other factors driving it.

    • @politicallycorrect9811
      @politicallycorrect9811 26 дней назад

      @@OZeve I am not denying that ISK supply does have some impact on inflation in the game. But I think that the supply of resources (or scarcity of resources in this case), has a much greater impact on price inflation. Is the additional demand due to people having more ISK, or because fewer resources available? CCP controls both levers. CCP has taken an approach to restrict resources, while simultaneously increasing the amounts required to build certain ships. This threw the economy out of balance.

    @ericharris9427 Месяц назад +2

    you just can't see what you're looking at I guess... You thank ccp banned a ton of people instead of lots of people leaving in the last few months. This is because like almost always ccp shoots their own players with their new exciting expansion. Which always makes things harder to make and easier to shoot in hopes of getting players to spend more money but ends up driving away players that aren't just logging in to pvp

    • @atonuts44
      @atonuts44 Месяц назад

      They looked at it year on year. In July last year, there was an equally sharp drop in the player base so they are speculating that it might not be related to the summer drop due to the 3 month delta timeframe.
      That’s where the speculation comes in on it may be a lot of bots banned.

  • @fergus247

    Rattati does not have a clue about game design but he is not stupid. He decided the daily rewards should go away at the same time his brilliant new expansion comes out. Because then he can just blame the login reward removal for players leaving and not his brilliant expansion. And then keep his job a while longer.
