Hi Akis, when I put the finished pasteli on the waxed paper, I was not able to detach it afterwards. What might have happened? I tried detaching it when it was warm, when totally cold, and still no luck. Seems like I will not be able to enjoy it even though it smells and tastes great. Thanks for your help!
Perfect! I will make this recipe soon with my raw Honey and Organic Sesame and Lemon! I've been looking for a healthy treat! Thank you for sharing! :-)
And here it is I thought I was the only person who thought of food as sexy! 🤣😄Great video. You have a fun personality that carries well through this platform. Thank you for delicious recipes. I just adore Greek cuisine, so I am thrilled to have found your channel.🙂 Take care during this crazy time.
This is so good and perfect timing, I literally just filmed my own recipe for these yesterday and was editing right now lol. Yours are much better thou ha
In ayurveda, we do not put honey on high heat as it's chemical properties or chain of molecules are disturbed and does not give the benefit. Honey can be in warm water, warm temperature. My question is this- how old this recipe is because this much i understand that Greek is a old civilization like India.
Wow, that is power packed ! We do have similar snacks back home in India. One friendly advice, you should be putting off the gas burner, as soon as you remove the pan. You can set example for all your viewers.
Hey Akis, love the channel, been making loads of the dishes, did the chicken gyros last night. But please could you do a recipe for Halva ! I love the stuff but can’t find a good recipe anywhere 👍🏻
I love all your recipes... But I need something that I can take to a "potluck"... I think these Greek treats would be great... Stunting that doesn't have to be hot when u take it. Thanks!
Hi Akis, this is a beautiful recipe, and we make something almost identical in India using sesame and jaggery (the purest form of sugar) (just Google 'til ke laddu'). I was wondering - if you're using raw, pure honey, it is so extremely nutritious and filled with great healing enzymes, but when you heat the honey on flame all these enzymes will be destroyed. Is there any other way to go about this recipe without heating the honey?
That sound good, thanks Akis. Do the lemon tree leaves taste like lemon ? Do you have a recipe for Cavenders all purpose Greek seasoning? It says it's an ancient Greek formula and I use quite a bit of it, mostly on burgers. I will try to think of something good for you to cook.
L. J. Bush You know, I think they do because I was growing a lemon tree from seed (until I accidentally killed it) and when it shed leaves, I tore one and noticed they had a strong lemon smell. I didn't try to eat them though...
Akis! I hope you can help me! When i was with my greek family at the church, we ate some sort of sweet grain with raisins It's years ago, and my greek is just okay, but by far not good enough to ask them what it was or what it was called like. Do you know what i mean? What is its name? Maybe you even have a recepie? Thank you very much in advance! stay save with everything that is happening right now, and thank you, for your videos. Hearing your accent makes me feel home again
If it was wheat grains, maybe it was kolyva? It's traditionally given out after a service for someone who has passed. Boiled wheat, powdered sugar, nuts, raisins and other stuff. If this is what you remember, tell me and I'll find you a recipe.
Say Akis love your channel, but I just have one question for you. I know honey is good for you and a super food, but does it still hold all its enzymes, vitamins and after you cook it for so long? I've been to several sites that say you ruin the honey by heating it more than 40c.
I had the same question... How about using regular brown sugar with little bit of water (why not, if already we destroy almost all healthy ingredients in honey?) and after adding sesame into caramel and removing from heat, wait really shortly and then add a bit honey - it shouldn't change texture too much and might keep some healthy ingedients in honey (hopefully)
@@sunset6010 I'm not saying that the greek cuisine doesn't have tomato sauce, I'm just saying that Pizza and Pasta are typically italian dishes. I'm not sure if it is waaaay better. Both greek and italian food is delicious, so what's your point? Blaming one kitchen over another one? ^^
I don't think I moved fast enough when I made this with Klio Greek Fir Honey from Sparta. My pistelli came out rock hard, and I think the honey was too strong tasting.
You're not supposed to eat a lot of this. They are quite healthy, but they're super heavy on calories not only because of the honey, but also because of the sesame. I usually eat 3-4 bites and they're perfect especially when you get cravings for sweets. They last pretty long in cling film.
sry akis but in my opinion you are way of on the honey, everything good that is in the honey will be gone once its boiled. so use the cheapest honey you can find and be cautios becuase those badboys are caloriebombs
A tasty snack for everyday!
Well done.. thanks Akis 🤗
Νόστιμο!!!!!!!!!!!
Εγώ το έκανα ρε φίλε..αλλά το σουσάμι δε βγήκε και πολύ σέξυ..

You never fail to put the passion into your food. Keep it up.
Wow!! Here in Puerto Rico sesame candy bars similar to pasteli are very popular and cherished❤
Thanks for sharing, it is healthy I would like to try. Greetings from Hong Kong. I hope to know more Greek food and culture:)
Lovely Video... thanks!
Love the idea using lemon leaves as little plates :)
Ohhh!
My favorite snack bar when I travel in Greece 💗
Thank you you are the best 🙏
Just made it. Pretty good! A nice chewy/crunch snack. Mix it thoroughly or there will be dry seeds that don't stick and get all over your shirt!
That kitchen is fantastic
AKIS is SWEETER than honey ♡
Good one keep it up it's all natural ingredients
These are amazing! You should do Frappe! mmmmm so delicious. My favorite.
HECK YEA, "A tasty snack for everyday!"
Bravo!! Thank you Akis.. 👍
Amazing! And as always, so accessible 😍
Love it - Thank your Arkis
We make this in India with jaggery (vegan version). Delicious! - till ladoos.
I'm noticing a lot of similarities between Indian and Greek food..😅
Interesting.
I love Indian food too
It's called chikki where I'm from, here in India. We also make these out of rice puffs, cashews and peanuts. So yummy!
I mean, the Greeks did colonize part of India. It’s possible that there was a cultural exchange of sorts.
Perfect! I will make this recipe soon with my raw Honey and Organic Sesame and Lemon! I've been looking for a healthy treat! Thank you for sharing! :-)

Looks soooo good!
A candy similar to this was my favorite as a child. My version does not have lemon in it but that sounds like a tasty addition.
Excellent
They look really nice they do Thank you, Akis, :-)
Love this! If I were to add nuts or dried fruit would it bind as well?
Aki, how do you make the soft pasteli - I remember an old man selling this at the panigiria in Xios.

No you can't make this recipe with raw honey. It won't be pasteli.

Hello, why did you add lemon zest?
just for flavor! 😉😀
Arabs got this too and it’s very popular. Arabs and Greeks best friends.
What if you bought the sesame pre-roasted?
You skip this step and continue the other steps.
how about protein bars, great healthy snack.
