  • My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel suffered a neurological event at 11.30pm. Footage is from 6 hours later, then another hour after that (after she'd had a bath, in readiness for the vet visit). It shows how "out of it" she was, and that her left side was badly affected. At midnight, she had vomited and couldn't get herself up. If I'd been less experienced, I would have thought the worst. As the morning went on, her neuro obs improved to the point she could climb several steps by herself. You can see her left legs are high-stepping and she's treading on the top of her front foot. She's quite disoriented.
Some vets would jump on this and order hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (or pounds) worth of tests. This is why I've posted this video. Just because she's a Cavalier doesn't mean she has syringomyelia (SM); in fact, I've only seen a couple of confirmed cases of it, in 26 years of showing, breeding and involvement with pet owners. Don't believe the scaremongers.
After four days on anti-inflammatories and antibiotics my girl is nearly normal, with a review in several days time. Explanation in the video.
