Its called GLASS STRIPPING. Removes basically anything that has been added to the car from coming out the factory. Oils, waxes , coatings & road film. ChrisFix for the win!
I tried this, definitely need to cover up a good bit of the car as it splashes everywhere and its a pain trying to clean up every crevice near the windshield that got splashed with the cerium oxide. I think i removed a good bit of the wiper scratches. Maybe doing a 2nd pass will clear it up. And the cerium fills up the pores on the windshield so you will definitely see some bits stuck there. Im too lazy to do another pass but im sure it will be clearer after another.
Hey there! Thanks for this video explaining the process! I was hoping to buff out some of those nasty windshield wiper scratches, the rest of the windshield seems to be in ok condition otherwise. You did the entire thing, do you think I’d be able to do just those scratches, and it still looking fine? Just wondering if doing it partially might make things look really weird I guess! Thanks for your insight! 🙏
I recommend doing it all, if you focus only on one area the windshield can end up looking warped, I researched this and that's the danger of only focusing on one area. It needs to be uniform. Good luck.
VERY helpful and thanks for sharing the video! Is there an ideal outside temperature to polish one's windshield? Can you polish in 40 degree temperatures?
Only 20 minutes? I spent about 30 minutes on a quarter of the windshield and I need to do another session. I was using a 3 inch and was trying 3 different pads as I wasn’t seeing results. I will use my 5 inch and felt pad next as it seems the way to go
I suppose there are many ways to do this...I've done many of them, first one I spent 1 hour with a 5 or 6 inch pad. Each one I do I spend a bit less time, probably because I've learned when to stop. At best you'll get out minor scratches and remove the haze. That can be done in 20 minutes using this method.
@@gray25xt yep, my car had paint overspray on the windshield so I took a scotch brite on it… huge mistake. The scratches will lightly catch on finger nails. I guess why I’m having to spend so much time on it.
Didn't know that existed or was a thing. Wish I knew about this on my Pontiac vibe gt when I had it. The insights windshield is cracked Soo it's gotta get replaced anyways
True, whether you use polish or cerium oxide the pits will be prominent. Between the haze or prominent pits, i'll choose the prominent pits everytime.

Helpful video 👍
I have 03 Corolla that has lots of tiny scratches

Thanks for the upload. I tried to polish mine a few weeks ago and it didn't make a difference. I'm going to try again this weekend.
You have to spend a good bit of time for it to make a difference. I probably buffed for 20-30 minutes.

@@gray25xt thanks so much - appreciate you taking the time to reply! Will give this a whirl in spring time!

Glad to help. I am not sure about temps. I don't imagine there would be any issue doing it in the cold.
Great video, FYI, they make cars in other colors besides red
Probably my least favorite color...but the very rare cars I wanted were red/maroon, so...beggars can't be choosers.

Good job bud
Does this remove the watermarks effectively? Thanks
I thoroughly discussed this in the video.
I think you used about 20 times more cerium oxide than necessary. 😅
Actually I used the right amount. It takes a long time polishing to get results. You need a good bit of the product.
