If the economy is doing well, the market is not selling off and unemployment remains low, WHY would the FED cut rates? CPI is still NOT at 2% and if the economy is still doing well with wages going up, the consumer still spending because they are employed with higher wages along with oil and housing still rising, would that not mean CPI goes up (Inflation) and the FED will NOT cut?
I think the market is overly optimistic. 15yrs of loose policy has conditioned the markets to expect the fed to cater to them above all else. With the numbers we are seeing… the idea of 3 rate cuts seems crazy to me.

Really the inverse of greed is fear. You'd be surprised how quickly sentiment could sway from one way to the other. The market isn't optimistic overall until stocks are doing well within the broader market.

@@chingron For me it makes no sense to buy bitcoin or any crypto - I pay 32 % tax on any gains. On stocks I pay, in practice, single digits % tax (you pay a flat tax on the amount in your account, not on the profit). Maybe I can buy a cryto ETF with the more beneficial tax rules...but it is harder to predict the price of bitcoin than the price of stocks.

Just to put things into perspective… the market cap of all the gold in the world is $10 trillion. The national debt is over $30 trillion. Think about that for a minute. All the gold in the world wouldn’t cover even 1/3 of the national debt. That is insane.
I sold every dollar I own and put it all into bitcoin. Every single penny except about 3 months worth for daily expenses. And I already know I won’t be regretting that decision.

There's also a big chunk of it that's held by people by political principle and who will never sell. On the other hand, there are several VERY concrete reasons why it's almost certain it will go much higher. Your question is as stupid as saying: can you get hit by a car if you go outside? Yes so you better never leave your house.
In the end it is a volatile asset, so of course it moves wildly, that's how it works, that's why you CAN make a lot of money by investing in those in the first place. Some of the biggest tech stocks like Meta, Tesla, Google also had their price divided by 2-4 during that period, and they're the BIGGEST tech stocks, the less volatile.
The thing is though, your little analysis is just idiotically zoomed in on the one period where bitcoin went down. If you look at trend through the years, both the good and the bad, overall bitcoin is the best performing asset in the last 10 years. But hey, remember you may get hit by that car, so keep trembling in fear and shout to everyone how we should all tremble like you. Who wants to make money when they can avoid taking any risk at all in life?
