THE RITCHIE BARRATT ORGINAL WAS THE ANTHEM OF EVERY BRITISH BEAT GROUP IN THE EARLY60s
Thank you... this is very good information that you provide.
Ive always loved this song since...my college days.
Good band ,she was beautiful

The choreography, the orchestra, the happy sunshine pop music. I'm so grateful to have grown up with this.

I was born in 1970. I've always liked the harmonies and melodies this group produced, very catchy. You are spot on about Polly, she was stunning and her voice was fabulous. 10/10! :)
You know that's what it's all about, peterankin985... Remembering our roots and identity, we recover our essence, despite our age. A warm greeting and fill your existence with all this magic of returning to the roots.
Polly Browne, what a singer. Need I say any more.
No... You needn't... It's Ok
And gorgeous too
Yes.
Polly Browne says it all, Billy. A marvellous singer! Pickettywitch is an underrated band, in my opinion.
@@minnietoby Gorgeous with a Capital G, Paul!
Polly Brown, so cool/hot, those 70s girls were something else!
Great vocals love the space she leaves in phrasing, such a greT talent 👏 🎉
Polly Browne. THE original MUSIC BABE.
I listen to this almost daily - I found it via Morrissey's 2022 Las Vegas residency, where he opens the show with a 30 minute montage of English TV appearances. This song captivated me. So lovely!!!!!
Polly Brown is one of my all time favourite singers🥂❤️🥂❤️👏👏👏
She's like a goddess of song!
Steady on.
Very nice middle of the road band, lovely nostalgic feel to this catchy song.
For a while, they were frequently on the radio in the UK. Happy memories.
Great job by Polly Brown. Nice singing voice. I played her other hit recording That same old feeling when I was a DJ and broadcaster.
Great music. different generation 👍🎶
I showed this to my best friend, and he said Polly's dress looked like a Neopolitan ice cream cone. LOL
The song is adorable and so are those little dance moves 😃
It was another time where that detail was very valuable
Thank you for posting. I am a fan from the 🇵🇭 Philippines
Thank you raulraul5776 !!
Polly is so pretty & has distinctive appealing voice.
This is pure gold. What a find
Goddamn, Polly Brown was pumpable!
(And she could sing, too!)
One of the songs played ahead of Morrissey concerts in the UK this month and last month! I hadn't heard it before. He has good taste 😄
This group have a Northern Soul quality
I totally agree... Thanks !!
I have tears in my eyes watching this, it's So cute, really gorgeous and beautiful , I'd never heard it before, not surprising as i was only 4 at this point in time, i Love it, thank you so much , her voice is stunning xx
Thanks !!... it excites me like it does you
She's very good AND gorgeous!
Fabulous Job🙌🌹
If you are referring to the group's presentation, I agree with you.
I like this chord progression
And the strings are flowing and ringing as if inviting me into a whirlpool of joy.
wooow, I have rarely witnessed such a valuable and subjective evaluation !!... Thanks @musiclabel2249
Almost good enough to be part of the Bacharach canon. Great vocals and arrangement.
I love Polly
Polly Brown, gorgeous
Gorgeous Polly. Before her time. Best ever x
Beautiful girl Polly, talent and classy, no need for tattoos, piercings and to be semi naked. Today's so called stars should take a leaf out of her book
Brilliant group, tons of great songs
But THAT dress?
i love this kind of stuff
magic voice she dances with her voice
Your description is excellent and witty ... and I totally agree with this. Thanks, francis pyka
I must admit that I did not know this nice group, but I had its LP for many years.
I have always listened to these songs with satisfaction and now I have recorded a CD with PICKETTYWITCH songs in very good quality, which I especially like and there are 16 of them.
Oh I am so fascinated by this music and the sound of the voice and their performance by both singers.
goombay
I totally agree with you !!
Are your songs on Spotify?
@@jamusicman3704 Yes, most of my favorite songs are available on Spotify.
@@carburator52 When music was so much better than todays rubbish !
Didn't hear this for a long time only a. few times on nz radio back in the 70s
What a lovely chick she was there singing a lovely sweet little ditty.
My My , well thaem were just great days , we (Men) were allowed to wear our hair long , it seems really strange now to me to see very rarely Men with long hair ; Anyways a great performance , thank you PW
I have still at 62 and no grey insight
She's fab...the dude singing...his hair
This upload has got the best sound quality, well done Ed!
Thanks Greg! ... I have tried to edit and improve, both the video and the audio
After 3 great chart hits, they then followed up with Waldo PE Jones, really a quite naff song, out of keeping with what they had done previously..very sad! They might just as well have done.. Sugar Sugar instead! Imagine if they had done another quality cover song, they could have had a FOURTH hit! With glam rock going on at the time, I think they fell out of favour and received much less radio airplay.
A kinder, simpler, more mannered world back then......
Superb
This takes me back to swimming at Murphy's cavern. So many people swimming. and laughing .and sharing stories about the townsmen.
Crabby, It's an scene movie description !!... and also very successful
Great voice👏
An excellent voice, yes !!
She forgot to put her knickers on. lol.
Loving the song, they really were an excellent group ... so well dressed too, not like half the talentless scruffbags that reckon they can sing today!
This music is 50 years old now. But it's always great yet. Polly Brown was a great singer. It's a pity that since then we don't hear anything of her. It's possible, I'm a little old fashioned, but I'm a fan of hers. She is as good as Dionne Warwick.
Everyone has their own taste. I also love Pickettywitch's songs for a long time, and I always listen to it with love, like Caren Carpenter.
The frogs of both of these ladies calm me down a lot.
goombay
@@carburator52 frogs?
As good as Dionne Warwick? Now that is HILARIOUS!
@@TruthSerum101 Similar voice though.
@@nigelwilliams9307 Listen again. The voices aren't similar at all. This woman sounds more like a young child with a cold. Uncannily mimicking some of Dionne's nuances and phrasing in certain passages in one's lower register is one thing. Actually duplicating Dionne's tone is another.
Polly brown ia. So. Remarkable
I can give you my word of honor that in this remastering I did not use any Artificial Intelligence.
Only the video editor and audio equalization filters...
This would have made a good Eurovision entry that year.
I agree with your opinion
-- Yes , Perfect
Before it became a freak show.
@@MrMjp58 Yes I agree. I haven't watched Eurovision since the early 1980s.
Polly Brown and Pickettywitch did not have that much success in the US, but Polly herself did hit with "Up in a Puff of Smoke" in 1975.
absolutely true that you say, but in other places like the Latin America, it was a memorable success !!
Classic British pop fare. Written by the Immaculate Les Reed and Geoff Stephens. One of three big UK hit singles for Pickettywitch in 1970.
The girl singer sounds like Dionne Warwick.
the voice tones of both singers is almost identical... very good observation !!!
That’s one heck of a dress 😂
The male singers hair 😮
How did they never make it to Eurovision..?
Hi v1e1r1g1e1 !! Eurovision was defined by other more commercial parameters than quality
@@MrEduardocosta gracias
This is the first time I've heard this song, and the first time I've heard of Pickettywitch... Pretty catchy name. I'm guessing they're British or from some other European country?
Deffo British
UK. Polly Brown is from Birmingham
Should think they've all turned their toes up by now Eddy......enjoying a well deserved rest!
Very Eurovision esque!
I remember Polly at one time had this weird fake romance thing going on with Jimmy Savile.
No strings on the guitar amazing
She sounds like Dionne Warwick.
yes that's how it is
where was this taken ???
is this dion warwick ???
No it isn't, but is inspirated in it
I wonder if she ever got married and had children, Eddy?
Is that a wig?
ha ha ha !!... Samson, not totally... Polly wore appliques that she added to her natural hair. Thank you, for your observation.
Then along came a rich music mogal, and stole 90 percent of profits
GOD HAVE MERCY, THEY ARE JUST TERRIBLE!
