A VOLUNTEER’S EPIC JOURNEY |

Hi everyone my name is Carlos Barbosa, I'm originally from Brazil, from a small town in the south called Mandaguari, but have been living in Europe since 1989. Since I left Brazil I have been travelling extensively all round the globe, so far I have been to over 60 countries and have lived in Paris, Israel, Spain, London for 15 years where I became a British citizen and for the past nearly 19 years I have been living in the Southwest of France with my life partner. In 2020 I became a permanent resident in France and soon be hoping to become a French citizen. Since I left my home country I've experienced a lot of unforgettable moments and some not quite so. I've made some incredible memories throughout these 35 years, not all positive by any means, there were those moments were you question yourself or the reasons why you are doing what you are doing, but throughout my resolve my positvinsees my tenacity and my vision for my future and my wish to become a better version of myself prevailed. I have to say that all that I've learned, all that I'm today I owe to my adoptive countries France where I started all the way in 1989, my brief 1 year, brief but very insightful year in Israel back at the end of 1989 and 1990, and of course my adoptive country the United Kingdom most precisely my adoptive city London from the end of 1990 until 2005 and it was there that I become a British citizen back in 1998, and since 2005 to these present day, France. In globetrotting around the world I've meet some amazing people, witnessed some unforgettable and important moments that changed and still changing the couse of our history. Now as I celebrate my 64 years, I'm embarquing on another great adventure at least I'm hoping that it will be. From the 23/07/2024 I will become officially a member of the Paris24 volunteer team. I will be a member of the Press Team, based
at the world famous Trocadero at the foot of the Iconic Eiffel Tower. My mission as a volunteer during the games consists: Contributing to the proper staging of press operations in all of the areas dedicated to customers, the Media Centres, mixed zone, press conference, press tribune,
● Welcoming and assisting the accredited media at a competition site;
● Participating with the proper staging of Press conferences;
● Facilitating discussions with and between participants in the Games by providing linguistic assistance.
From the 23 of July 2024 to the 11 of August, I will be running on my RUclips channel a day by day vlog diary of the events surrounding the games. I may not be able to go into fine details or provide you with official pics or interviews with athletes as my volunteer code doesn't allow me
to do so but surely I'm going to try to show you the Olympics mood in Paris, as the competition goes on. So before the 22/07/2024 I'm going to post a video which will launch publicly my channel which will include a link asking you to subscribe if you feel that interest you.
