I own both. The proportions are better on the Mafex one. The Black Series version is bulked up, which would be fine if Mando was meant to have a superhero body…. but he’s not. He does look really good though, just less accurate to the show.
Great comparison review, the MAFEX is the better figure but the chrome armor pieces aren't as shiny as they should be, the cape doesn't sit around the neck and shoulders as cleanly as they appear in the promo pics and the figure's proportions, while superior to those of the SHF, may be a bit on the lean side. Other than those issues, it's the definitive Mando in 1/12.
Great informative thorough review! side note, actually the first time I heard someone say Mafex The Batman was bad, feel like people mostly prefer it to the Figuarts, unless you custom cape and head sculpt it. Now I feel I gotta do more research before choosing lol
Just wish Mafex Grogu was a bit bigger cause his head looks too small. SH Figuart's The Child would fit with any Mafex Mando better imo.
The Black Series Glavis Ringworld Mando looks the best out of all 3, its not even close tbh.
Nah I think the proportions of mafex is a little bit more natural. And the visor of tbs helmet is a little bit too wide. Both look great tho

I'm probably in the minority on that one, I just really wasn't feeling it. It's a fine figure, just wasn't for me.

The torso on that Mafex is terrible...
