For everyone saying its not his Full Power: At this Moment in the Story it actually is. It is said in the Episode that he threw all the mana he currently had at them. It is also said once he actually knows how to use his Power, he will be A LOT stronger. Hope that clarifies my Title.

Yeah, he is...quite literally just using basic projectile spells in this fight backed by his monstrous mana. Once he learns more ways to wield his power the devastation he can cause would be entire worlds apart from this battle...
really his power level doesn't matter considering he can literally just rise it by meditating
If you want to go by story, he's pissed off, yes, but doesn't throw his full power at them. He thinks that his hit will annoy them for sure before he escapes via Mist Gate, and doesn't think much about it later too. Later, Tomoe learns that even though he went easy he created a f*ing lake with his attack. He'll be called the Devil. Even though he wasn't serious here.
That is an important part in the story, I think
Not even considering only the anime it's his full power, for one he is trying to distract them to run away, second he throw five of his rings, he still have another five and the robe (that drains a lot more than all the rings combined)

fun fact: the human soldiers who survived the last attack are so traumatized that they dont want to fight anymore, and their faith in the goddess is essentially broken because he looked human, yet it happened to them...

Honestly, wasn’t expecting this series to have such a high production value. The animations, especially the magic, is way better than most I’ve seen in the past few years.

To clarify to all of you, as stated later in the manga, he has a mana pool that pretty much rivals that of the goddess herself at this point but the problem is in releasing and using it, because even when he takes off his rings, he still can't release his full power, this is depicted as him having an ocean or river or lake or pond, (one of those) and only being able to take out buckets full of water when the rings are off, also to clarify for you, when he gets stronger its because of this reason... When he concentrates on arrow practice alone ( which at this point he does it to release stress and anxiety) , he is essentially killing himself and reviving himself over and over which is one way to increase your mana pool in this world which is why on top of him having plenty of mana at the beginning, his mana pool kept increasing, the proof of this is the pocket dimension expanding and getting bigger in correlation to how much more does his mana pool increase
Don't think he'd say, "I threw all the mana I had" if he couldn't actually do that, and he even passed out doing it. Also, all of the stuff about the effects of the archery practice was already explained in the show.

@@sageofthe12paths29 Where does it state that he's unable to use up all his mana reserves yet? I can see that it's a possibility, just haven't seen any evidence of this anywhere.
Greater magic feats that happen after this can easily be explained by how this event made him want to train more rather than him suddenly being able to utilize more of his mana.

@@Discorded Not literally everything is going to be included 1:1 in the adaptation, especially not redundant knowledge (he was cursed to not have access to wind magic but he doesn't even have an affinity for it in the first place) and him not having any magic affinity for wind had already been shown earlier on in the show.

He can't use Wind and Healing. Some other Goddess took out his Wind to balance out the rest of the elements so he won't die on Earth (His parents were from this world).
He can't use heal on himself cuz he sees life as meh, "Guess I'll die" attitude.
The history of the hyuman army isn't even mentioned.

As well I think due to mios regeneration ability he was able to regenerate them back when you think it could get more op

A lot of people seem to really think that he's cursed, so let me clear that out for you, This will include some novel spoilers though, so be careful.
Mc is not actually cursed, and never was. Goddess never did anything negative to him. Well, except throwing him out on a battlefield. What she did was giving him a "universal language understanding" power, and then excluded the hyuman language from it. In the future he actually makes a deal with her, he saves the hero from death, and she gives him full ability for that. He also almost died because the full ability was too powerful for his brains to handle. So no, the reason why he could not speak hyuman language even after he learned it, is because that language in itself is not a normal language, it is given to people by Goddess, and you can only speak it if you're blessed by her. To further prove that point, if he really was cursed to not be able to speak hyuman language, the ring Lancer used in this fight would've lifted the curse and made him able to speak properly, but that didn't happen. Hope I helped.

@@lumberluc Actually it's not a curse, the blessing the goddess gave him is universal language, he can talk with literally anything, however the goddess tampered with the blessing removing only the human language from it, so it's not a curse, but simply the goddess trolling him by removing one language from his blessing.
To add on to what the guy above me said it isn’t really a curse cuz he can actually learn the common language. He just has to do it the traditional studying method. He gave up cause that’s to much work, for the fact that he can already understand them and respond in writing. She just trolled tf outta him but also gave him the best gift he could’ve gotten in terms of where she dropped him cuz doing so have him the ability to talk ema, and consequently shen.
These 2 were really lucky that he only took them out out of desperation and not because he was serious seriously they knew he was busy and they attacked him 1st no excuses they didn't even ask him where he came from

The main character is just too powerful for them
One point of clarification. Makoto use the rings thinking they would only cause considerable damage. He gauge this from the ring explode incident prior to this. He didn't realised that the level of damage he saw were reduced by Tomoe Fragment's water spell, Hayato's spell, and the Clay Aegis.

In the manga (and I think the novel) he only uses one Draphnir in the water arrow. *Only one*

@@grazienuevox6278 the anime didn't show it but basically the heroes were losing hard, the reason why the war stopped was because of Makotos final shot. They also didn't include the part where miyo was willing to trade her life in order to save his Master.

They explained in the novel that the heroes that the goddess summoned were losing because the demons find a way to seal goddess's blessings. Thus she had to choice but to send Makoto (who is clueless about the war) into the battlefield.

This anime has the magic scenes pretty much up there with the big ones and I like how powerful he is. I can't get enough of that feeling. Not to mention the high quality.

I was just enjoying the comedic approach of this anime and then i started to get captivated as it goes on and tbh i started looking forward to it than most of the most anticipated series during its time of release. This and eminence in shadow really got me unexpectedly

I find it funny how she thought she could just drop him from the sky to kill him, but after nuking the area he just mist gates out before even coming close to landing. So now they are left still thinking falls from a great height could be fatal to him if he actually hits the ground. But in truth, easily surviving such a fall(with no sustained damage) was literally the first feat of strength he displayed after being summoned to this world.

I just want to say this, but for those that think that this anime copied "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" the light novel of "Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy" first volume came out of the year 2012
while "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a slime" first volume of light novel came out 2014.
So Tsukimichi L.N. is the longest Volumes, huh? So that means that's over 20 or 30+ L.N. Volumes.
i'm also dying to learn about makoto's parents. they raised him so well. i bet they were amazing warriors.
I'm around chapter 200 in the web novel rn and his parents origins are revealed. The mother was a priestess and the father was a noble, nothing more is said. The country they are from is under demon rule(before Makoto occupies it)

This guy and Rimiru do the overpowered characters right. Both could easily obliterate nations with narry a hint of trouble. Instead, they just work to live their lives the best they can and only fight when provoked. I'm short on the context of why this happened, but I do know that some people he cared about had gotten killed prior to this, much in the same vein of Tempest being attacked and many of Rimuru's friends getting killed. Silent fury is the best kind of fury.
This guy is stronger than Rimuru though lmao. all he has to do is focus to the point that he cease to exists and then phase back to reality and the entire system of the world considers it as reincarnation and his power will be doubled.

I'm more surprised the fact that after all that, the only thing that vaporize is her armor and one of the dragon's leg. I know mc wasn't even seriously fighting them and he just want to piss off them but still, those two are strong.
In the ln, she had an artifact that protects her from water-based attacks. It was completely wasted despite it being able to tank a nuke level attack.

In their second fight in the manga, He got stronger and just literally played with her along with two other demon generals. He casually threw away one and the other got intimidated, while he was being barraged by her. And oh yeah, Shiki killed the kid
Man i wish S2 got the same budget and quality as S1, after 23 episodes the only good quality battle was the Mock battle between Kuzunoha & Shiki

The placement of this fight was a little different from in the manga, since in the manga it also showed what the soldiers that were fighting in the war were doing, it also showed what the other summoned hero was doing, but I guess we will probably see it in season 2
yeah, kinda sad they rushed things here, this to me was an important buildup but they rushed it. they also changed things around (forgot to show the wind sealing, made him use 5 rings of draupnir instead of the one he used in manga, showing him explaining how he was going to handicap himself for this battle to practice his magic, etc etc)

@@ravenquinn7774 Didn't seem important considering it all worked out. Having the viewers not know everything happening behind the scenes surrounding the war and the other heroes just helps add to the viewers' understanding of how sudden it was and how confused Makoto was throughout it all. Side stories irrelevent to the MC can always be shown in flashbacks later on.
The information about the wind magic being sealed is unnecessary/redundant, and the same goes for any extra inner monologues (which there is a ton of in manga/webnovels and would take a strange amount of time to express in the middle of a fight since it's an animation).
Not everything needs to be exactly identical to the original work for it to be a good adaptation. Constantly expecting it to be so will only make it less enjoyable for you.
They alsp didn't show the other 2 heroes, probably not enough time for it and they will do it in the next season.
@@firesong7825 except those arent side stories, they are part of the main story and will become important later on. the changing of the draupnir also lessens the impact that this event later has on the MC. And the sealing of the wind magic is actually neccesary to understand later information.
im all for changing things a bit to suit the art medium, but these were unneccesary changes that will have a drastic impact later on

Can we all just appreciate that our man was fighting 1v2, while having multiple rings and his cloak itself all simultaniously draining him of mana that would kill any "normal" human instantly.

which is means, this power (in this video) just a bucket of water out of an ocean.
the story itself is great. I recommend all of you to read the manga, since a lot of things this anime skipped.
and the comedy itself remind me of grandchild vibes.
I dont remember his parents being god level beings. IIRC they are a royalty and a priestess. His power comes from Tsukuyomi's gift and his body which is used to experience heavy pressure in earth. But more importantly, his daily meditation makes his mana pool expanding.

Actually according to the novel makoto actually didn't know that his attack would cause a massive lake because he thought that the attack won't kill those 2. The real purpose was to mask away his escape...

when I read this in the manga and light novel I thought it would be more amazing or "showy". I guess I was just underwhelmed with the animation.

Tbh that's how I feel about most anime adaptations of a novel that I read lol. Most fight scenes are better in my head, like in Tensura (Slime) for example (it's good if I think of it as a standalone anime, but I get disappointed when I think about it as an adaptation of a novel I like).
As for this particular anime, I haven't actually watched it, just this clip and maybe a few more. But from what I can see, the magic looks ok.
My biggest problem in most adaptations is that they can't seem to make how I imagine high-speed combat would be like. Not just in this anime, but in most recent ones (by recent, I'm also including the ones from, say, 2-3 years ago). For example, in the novels that I read, they claim that the characters move faster than the eye could follow, but in the anime adaptations, they move in normal speed. Older animes can show this no problem tho (like Naruto, Bleach etc), but the newer ones don't or can't for some reason. It honestly ruins it for me. It's why I sometimes don't watch anime adaptations of novels and mangas I like. Like, I can't see the difference between the strong and the weak since they all move in the same speed. In the novels, the weak can't see the movements of the strong. It's how you know that their gap in strength is huge. Of course, I'm pretty sure there are some exceptions, tho I can't name one from the top of my head, but I'm talking about in general. Btw this "high-speed movement" I'm talking about and looking for is mostly seen in fantasy settings, like isekai, where they have physical reinforcement magic or something, so I understand some action anime not having them.
Sorry for ranting lmao. Haven't watched Seirei Gensouki yet but I hope it's good. It's my favorite LN as of now.

It is when he defused his consciences and rebuilds it he gets stronger he can fire a bow normalu but it helps him aim better when he does difuse himself.
