can you guys make a video clarifying what foot movement is and isn't allowed when serving? Footwork for serving is a big grey area for my group and have seen various takes on it. Would be super helpful!
@@marcuscarpenter7230 nah you can just jump to the side to serve where they aren't. You line up straight with them, choose pivot foot, and then it's on the receiver to react to wherever you can pivot to and hit a legal serve.
@@marcuscarpenter7230 There is no real pivot foot. You just got one step with whatever foot you chose. Read the rules lol. 4.4.4. The server may take one step in any direction. This action establishes the pivot foot. Once the non-pivot foot touches the ground, that foot must ALSO maintain ONE point of contact.
@@primehuerter lol so you've been playing wrong all these times? It's ok, it's not like there are official rules to this or anything. Literally watch any video or highlight, every defender hits the serve up for their partner on the initial serve receive
They are now, as long as the side pocket doesn’t change the trajectory of the ball (I.e., hitting the ball on the left pocket makes the ball go to the right, and vice versa for the right pocket)

I'm pretty sure any foot movement on a server is legal as long as either foot doesn't cross the 6-foot line before the ball is hit.
@@nissleycrunch9097 you can move both feet tho and get a better angle? Or just pivot

@@nissleycrunch9097 ok but I can choose a pivot foot tho and use it on serves right?

Are you allowed to serve the ball from over your head or shoulders?
On defense can you return the serve on the first hit or do you have to pass to your teammate first
you gotta pass
@@kwasabere no you don't
@@primehuerter unless the rules changed, you do.
@@kwasabere you're just straight up wrong lmao

I thought that side pockets are not allowed on a serve
