What's really amazing is that car still has its original license plates on it. That license plate was issued in 1956. It was the first year for that design. So original all the way down to its license plate is incredible.
My family had a 1955 that was turquoise and white and before my Dad quit driving it it had almost turned over to 300,00 miles on the odometer and smoked only when you started it up. The Pontiac can’t be beat!
The year was 1967. My very first car was a 1956 Pontiac Chieftain 870 Catalina 2 door hardtop. It had the optional (larger) available for that year, Stratostreak 316.6 CID 227 HP (not 205 HP, to correct the announcer) V-8, 4 barrel carburetor engine and the super-smooth running, Stratoflite 375 Hydramatic 4-speed automatic transmission. I got it for $1.00 from my friend David Foster who's uncle had died.. I drove it home from across (a small) town, without a driver's license, license plates, or insurance. The world was a lot more simple/different then! Today I would have been arrested! Unfortunately, my mother made me get rid of it when she came home from work, before my father got home! Too bad, although it had a flat spot on the camshaft lobe which caused a slight hesitation at about 40 MPH, it was a sound car with no damage, and an excellent buy! Years later, when I asked her why she would not let me keep it, she said, "when it comes to car (and any DIY) repairs, your father was not you"!
Nice car! Always wondered why the 1955-57 Pontiacs are not viewed as collectable like the 1955-57 Chevys. With Pontiac you got a V-8 and a four speed Hydramatic, for not a whole lot more than a Chevy.
Dad odered 55 with dark green metallic and pale green .as a kid thought it was a nice car .Dad loved this car but at about 15 months old he was in a rearender when the fellow didn,t even try to stop just drove right into us .Ins got Dad a 56 Oldsmobile 88 sedan .He drove that till fall 63 and ordered a 64 Pontiac Parisienne wagon
My father had one of these circa 1964. Instead of salmon/coral and white it was green and white. I remember it being a reliable car, until it got rear-ended. Sadly, it became a throw-away car.
@@andrewwanner6855 My dad had a 1956 Star Chief Convertible which had every possible option other than power windows and a/c. It was a two tone deep kind of burgundy wine and white combo. I felt like a million bucks as a little kid when we rode with the top down! It had courtesy lights under the dash and a cool "dome" light in the back seat area....they installed this light in the center of the metal convertible brace that spanned left to right over the back of the back seat and had a switch to manually turn it on and off in the area by the window. It always intrigued me because I never saw a light like that on any other car that I had ever seen. I had a fun time reading magazines with that light! The car was fast too....my dad and my uncle had a secret place where they would meet up and race down a 2 lane closed road that was about a mile long. Uncle Johnny had a 55 Chevy with a 283 and a 3 on the tree. They would each win about half the time. Fun days and my cousin Brian and I weren't allowed to tell each of our mom's about the races under penalty of getting a good tanning lol.
One of the finest examples in the country. The car sold very quickly and could have been sold 6 times over at that asking. Made me think it was too low! I get what you are saying however. 15-20 years ago this would be a completely different story. I'm glad the 'more doors' are getting the recognition they deserve.
Everything about the car is great except those lame straight exhaust pipes coming out the back. If you’re going to restore a car, restore it the right way including the way the pipes come out the back.
She works at the salon- best gosh darn cut and color you'll ever get. and WHAT a conversationalist!
Beautiful car❤
What a beauty, in amazing shape.

My Parents Had One of these When I was a kid, I Liked The 4 Door Sedan ,I liked the Rear Door Design with the vent Window
Great video, I enjoyed the historical context at the beginning.

That is the beauty of capitalism, a gradual step up, worked for the consumer and the company!😊
For Me A Gorgeous Car ❤ It

That’s a lot of car for the money. I love the color combo too! Good luck with the sale pal.
Have two '56's------- I think you meant to say 316 and not 216 ----- Thank you for the video ------ Rodney

Hello how are you doing today? Where did you find this car? I love the color of this 4 door Pontiac Star Chief!
I thank you for showing this sexy Pontiac Star Chief 💋💙❣️
My father had one of these circa 1964. Instead of salmon/coral and white it was green and white. I remember it being a reliable car, until it got rear-ended. Sadly, it became a throw-away car.
Love the eyebrows !
Exquisite ❤️
Strange thing I noticed. It still has the brake peddle going through the floor. Chevy had gone to the swing down brake peddle in 1955.
The hood straps are known as silver streaks
That is a nice car. Worth the price, every penny. The colours are not my taste.
Cheers 🇨🇦
Take off the top, make it a convertible, and all we’d need are the Ricardos and the Mertzes.
@@MrFullService well, there is that.
That was a 55 - very similar!

Nice but 23,000?? I must be out of touch!

how much to ship it to norway
Just seeing this. That car sold quickly. Just after posting this video.
It’s pronounced “ Ore-gon. Not “Ore-e- gone. Nice car!
I said that? Not on purpose! Sorry!
I don’t think General Motors installed Sears Allstate tires as original equipment on their new cars!
The tire style and design, with the bias ply, pie plate sculpting and wide white wall is what I meant. Sorry for the confusion.

Beautiful car.
But the mush mouth. Yapping has got to stop ...
Blah blah blah
It’s like 56 Chevy, with a longer nose and uglier.
