MJ got it. It’s the fans who make the game. He always tried to give the best every game because he felt if someone spent their money to come see him only once they should get his best. She gets it as well. Many Pros don’t. Maybe the WNBAs alleged greats can learn from her and realize that there are levels to this thing. They may look superhuman in their minds but it’s the fans who pay them.

It’s got nothing to do with race. Clark passed plenty of non-white women on the way to the NCAA scoring record. It is a shame that the NCAA doesn’t recognize AIAW records, so there’s plenty of argument to be had there, but given that the NCAA only recognizes its own records, I don’t think it’s “classless” for Clark to accept a record that’s considered official.
