Sorry for a newbie question: What size hook on the jig head is best with the Keitech Fat Swing Impact 2.8 please? As I can't have a look in my local tackle shop as they don't stock Keitech lures. Thankyou.
Fished that exact spot with the deadbaits last week and had a load of liners. reckon it was them suckers. Saw you out earlier today,- no pike, but I did say I wouldn't mind if one of those big trout had a go at the Mackrell.....8lb 4oz.....Brownie!
Could have also been Bream with liners. Saw a lot of them rolling at first light. Ah that’s awesome with the Brownie. Will have to have a proper go for them at some point. Incredible fish
Hi. In New Zealand we eat the size you’re catching why don’t you. P/s they are the best tasting fish I’ve tasted. Most lakes here were told not to put them back
In the UK we don’t really eat many freshwater species (aside from Trout and Salmon etc). Unfortunately we don’t have the stock levels or the waters to support the fish being taken for the table. I have actually eaten Perch abroad, and agree it’s very tasty, but morally it’s just a bit questionable here in the UK if your goal is to preserve fishing for the long term.
I’ve learned in my time fishing that it’s all relative!! Back on my southern local river, I’d be lucky to see 2 or 3 40s a season. And here it’s like shelling peas. You can only catch what’s in front of you and I feel like it’s good to manage your expectations and targets. 🤙🏻🎣
