Just wanna let you know I really appreciate all your effort on this channel. I myself don’t fully understand the “shelf queen” fascination (I love to rips all my cars) but your videos are always entertaining and I’ve asks questions before and was blown away by the length and completeness of your response. As we say over here in American “You the man!!!!” 😁 keep it up!! 👍
Great content as always Gav 👍, lovely looking car! I am very lucky to own a car you restored and as a result I can assure anyone watching your channel that every restoration is done with the greatest attention to detail.
You did a fantastic job on the rebuild. You should be proud of your work. It appeared in the tear down of the car that the part of the main chassis where the battery slides in has a honeycomb design. The honeycomb design is used a lot in Traxxas an Arrma cars for strength. I wonder if this car was one of the first to use this design? You have a lot if used parts. Are they something you can sell? You have inspired me to do a couple of rebuilds. Keep up the good work.
I do as well but unfortunately, these videos take way more time, money and effort to film but people don't really watch them. Shame as I would do more if these videos had more traction. Unboxing RTR videos are so much easier and get more views.
Hi Gary, I hard to let the NIB go as I wanted to build it and it would have lost so much value I could t do it. I still wanted one for the collection so picking up this well used example one was a better way to go for me and I can also make content for the show. It’s a lovely buggy that’s for sure.
@@RCKickschannel I usually like one of each but for nostalgia reasons I might build one of them. I got an astute there nib and I got one to restore as well. It’s hard to build the expensive ones…
There is a certain body I want. And today I am going to order the total kit today. It's one of those "TT" platforms (brussel sprouts) and I am going to endeavor with this build because I really want the body. BUT I
After how many new parts does the buggy become no longer the same buggy? Terry Pratchett has a good quote on this topic: “This, milord, is my family's axe. We have owned it for almost nine hundred years, see. Of course, sometimes it needed a new blade. And sometimes it has required a new handle, new designs on the metalwork, a little refreshing of the ornamentation . . . but is this not the nine hundred-year-old axe of my family? And because it has changed gently over time, it is still a pretty good axe, y'know. Pretty good.”
@@RCKickschannel Exactly! Only I want a refund because my replacement cells are not as good as the originals and seem to be getting worse with every cycle! 😉
Nice restoration by the way. I bought a genuine one about four years ago and have slowly hopped it up to basically evolution spec but still with the bathtub chassis using all vintage hop ups. I run a cpr 160 and 02h with an option armature. Top force shock towers, vintage evolution light diffs, ujs, one way gear and hi caps with option springs. It’s a really nice car to drive 👍
I restored a TC during the 2nd lockdown, lovely car...... wish I never sold it now, the Dynatech motor was literally mint. I always thought the TC was released after the Evo, kind of a car made up of left over parts from the TF/Evo/Blazing Star production runs.... but I could be wrong.
1st Manta Ray, 2nd Top Force, 3Rd Top Force Evolution, 4th Terra C, 5th Dirt Thrasher, 6th Blazing Star, 7th Super Manta Ray, 8th Neo Top Force, 9th Manta Ray rere and a few others.

Can't beat a build video!! Awesome 👍👍
You've done a great job with that chassis, can't wait to see it all finished!!
I have been waiting for this one Charlie

Love this resto vid! I’d like to add one to my collection at some point

Definitely wish Tamiya would do a rere of this I went down the road of converting a manta ray with repo body and dyed wheels still turned out nice.
Yep it was the only way to really get one of these for reasonable money and a bit like the Top Force Evolution clones people made.
I do love the finished result when you have a car retored. But then i go and race mine 😂
Whatever makes you happy and puts a smile on your face my friend 👌
Love these types of videos

Very nice resto 😎
My first brand new Tamiya, and you kick started my addiction again when I bought your new in box one. Now have 2 nib .

Try elbow grease original all purpose degreaser cheap as chips and works really well
I had a manta ray in 1995 modified allot on it had an aluminum motormount and a 14t steel pinion and a reedy 10t motor.
What control angle servo will i need for a tamiya the frog please? 180 or 270 degrees?

BUT I
Lovely build, one thing came to mind, did you open the diffs after washing them?
I’d love to see the Scorch come back. What is Charlie? 😂
Charlie is my editor. :)
Really nice. 😎👍🏻
Hello from southeast alaska that is sweet looking bro
👍🏻
Look s awesome... may I ask what you put on the plastics and the rubber to get it looking new?
The vintage tyres I use silicone oil on them to restore them. The body I clean with washing liquid first and then some Tamiya’s polycarbonate cleaner.

A human body replaces every single cell over a seven year period. You are 100% a different person but yet it is still you.

The Evolution was released before the Conqueror 👍
Yep a few months before, you are right. I looked it up last night and I was surprised as I had it the other way around.

There does come a point in restoration, when you might as well just built a second car... Run the worst shelf the best....
stop with the old vintage babes, im gonna go bankrupt.
By the way, Who is this Charly ?
