Eggman's VA is Alfred Coleman, who truly shines in all these videos. He...is actually not a voice actor, but a storyboard artist for a show called Unikitty, which is an animated spin-off of The Lego Movie.
Replying to my own comment to suggest, if you have an upcoming available time slot, I re-recommend Unraveled by Polygon. It's a hilarious over-analytical series on video games. I decided to take today to binge as much of it as possible, I'm only 2 videos in, and I can't help but want to see your reactions. You don't even need to know anything about the source topic. I've never played Skyrim, Megaman, Halo, etc. But they're still really funny and enjoyable.

@@deviouscrackers9464 That's not technically correct as Chaos Control can warp either time or space, that's why Shadow says "Za Wardo" in the first fight as it is a reference to the time stopping ability (and a certain time stopping vampire), Sonic uses Chaos Control with the fake Chaos Emerald to escape the space pod just before it explodes as confirmed by Shadow in the original game by him saying this line "But, there's no way you could have activated the Chaos Control using an Emerald that's fake."
Now while you do have a point about Chaos Snap it can only be used for short range teleportation (like from one side of a room to another and is mostly used to close in on enemies ala Sonic Battle and Shadow The Hedgehog) and does not need a Chaos emerald to pull off, while Chaos Control on the other hand does.
TLDR: To summarize Chaos Snap is just a watered down version of the space warping version of Chaos Control that you don't need a Chaos Emerald for.

Just so you know this is one of the greatest and most memorable stories of all Sonic games. I'm honestly not sure why they never do the Hero Side Dark Side story anymore since it was such a great way to explain Shadow's backstory plus it's nice to be the villain every now and then and see their perspective of things and actually gain empathy for them (Mainly Shadow)
^THIS. It's just a pity SEGA set limits on Shadow's character development, by making it a contractual thing that no one officially writing him can ever make him more than the edgy Vegeta to Sonic's Goku.

@@Geth-Who Tbf, that happened because of how Shadow's story was only meant to be SA2. He was never meant to come back. They then f*cked that up so horrendously that the character became a joke, and it just so happened that Sonic Team in the late 2000s began to adopt a very "haha look how stupid we are" ironic sense of humor. Those two things combined and in the 2010s they just started making Shadow a parody of how edgy he was in the late 2000s.
Effectively, Shadow in 2017 was a parody of the 2005 version of him which itself is an absolute butchering of the original character he had in 2001. A parody of a parody almost. The only time they wrote Shadow well past 2001 was, ironically, Sonic 06. I genuinely enjoyed Team Dark's characterizations and dynamic in that story, and Mephiles as a villain to be honest.

in Sonic adventure 2 there are 2 storys you play through the hero story with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. then you have the Dark story with Eggman, Shadow, and Rouge. it basicaly lets you see what both sides are doing during the games events and when you beat both of those storys you unlock the Final story

basically has a history of consistently changing gameplay mechanics for a number of reasons like negative reviews, bad reputation, or staleness. Rather than refining a formula with potential, they'd rather do an entirely new gameplay style, and just dropping the last gameplay style completely, which is why we haven't gotten a new Sonic fighting game or RPG.
@@theduckgoesmoo quite a few sonic games had that kind of mechanic where you played as different characters but for some reason some people complained about it stating that you had to play as "Sonic's Shitty friends" and some games also didn't change up the levels to much for example sonic heros has you play 4 different character teams that all go through the same levels in order with some slight differences in difficulty or objectives. So you basically had to play the game 4 whole times
at least you don't have to get all the chaos emerlads this time to unlock the final story..
@@Fennalope I think the main drop off for why people didn't want multiple storyline in one game at the time was that, as you mentioned, there was the mess Heroes was, that led into Shadow the Hedgehog and it's 11 different endings, then into 06, which is its own thing that nobody needs to get into lol
So that bit about Shadow putting hot sauce on everything was actually a reference. In another video featuring conversations between the dubs Alfred told a story from when he was in school and during lunch a kid asked him for some hot sauce to put on his Twinkie because he claimed to put hot sauce on everything he ate, and so that bit made it into the dub.
that fat purple cat character that apears randomly and is never refered too is Big the Cat. hes basicaly a meme character in the sonic universe and in sonic adventure 2 hes an easteregg that you can find hidden in levels and sometimes cutsceens when you hold specific buttons (if i remember right)

If you want more, there’s a Sonic 06 fandub that’s around an hour and 40 minutes long, you could split it into two parts, and a sonic riders fandub which is a little more family friendly than the rest of em.

They did make it really short, but most of the game isn't too difficult. However, the final boss (the dinosaur thing) can be annoying. One thing you should know about sonic games, is that you can only die if you take damage without any rings and that you lose all your rings by taking damage. When you lose your rings, they drop next to you (max 20) so you can pick them back up if you don't take your time. The first phase of the final boss (before they go to space), there's only a few small patches of rings, and if you take damage it can be kind of hard to pick them back up. The dinosaur might push you away with its head or tail for example. The last 3 hits are very frustrating, because you have to climb up by hitting those floating balls, and those balls can also attack you by flying directly at you really fast like a bullet. Since you have to do that twice, I almost always get hit before I hit the "button." The very last hit of this phase changes gravity so everything floats at the height of the button (except rings), and those balls are all spinning around the button that you have to dodge. Its almost like an extreme Frogger. I almost always get hit here, sometimes twice, and you can't pick the rings back up after you get hit. So if I have rings, its about 50/50 shot of getting the last hit in. If I don't have rings, I almost always die. What happens very often, is that I get hit when delivering the second to last hit, and then I can't pick up anymore rings when it transitions to the last hit phase, where I almost always die since I don't have any rings.
In the final phase where they are in space, the attacks from the dinosaur don't damage you, but they have a lot of knockback and are meant to stall you. You basically have a timer, you start with 50 rings, and lose one every second or so. If you damage him it switches to the other character and the rings reset to 50. Every hit, the beams get faster and come at you more often. In the last 1 or 2 hits, you have reduced starting ring counts. It seems so easy, but can be surprisingly frustrating/difficult.
Just call him the Biolizard.

Most of the game isn't too difficult? I think you forgot the existence of Mad Space, Security Hall, Eternal Engine, Egg Quarters and Crazy Gadget
@@robonaught Security Hall and Egg Quarters are pretty easy tbh. I'll give you Mad Space, Eternal Engine, and Crazy Gadget though. That being said, that's only 3 stages out of like 30 or so. I would still say that most of the game isn't too difficult.

Also Shadow didn't really die, he was Super while falling and is Nigh Invulnerable, he just suffers a TBI hence his more hostile and apathetic attitude in his game and is an Amnesiac then he lost access to Chaos Control and Chaos Spear, you get Chaos Control back when touching the Green Emerald in Westopolis and Chaos Spear when fusing with all Seven Emeralds for Devil Doom, like you dont have a choice to use firearms with exception of a few missions because you dont have access to CS anymore.
The hero and dark stories take place at the same time. Just through different points of view. So when the explosion happened outside the window with Shadow watching, that’s when Eggman shot Sonic out the airlock.
18:00 just to explain the Pumpkin Hill joke besides been a level song from the game. In the video that Snapcube post about parts the whole recording section of the fandub, one of the voice actors couldn't stop singing Pumpkin Hill theme every time through all the recording section.
Also, they've made a Pumpkin Hill reference in all of their dubs. It's become a running gag.

Watching this video was just me saying "ahh, this part!" Over and over again because there's just so many good parts.
Honestly, if you just play through the main story, the Sonic Adventure games are really pretty short. If you know where to go, you can casually beat (not speedrun) the main story (not 100%) for each game in like 1 day each at most. The hardest part of Sonic Adventure 1, imo, is just figuring out where you need to go. I got both sonic adventure 1 and 2 and the DLC on steam during the winter sale for less than 5 bucks. I think it would be cool to see you play them blind.
but figuring out where to go is not too hard because there are hints you can use that tell you what to do
@@Fennalope Sometimes those hints can be vague, and sometimes there's literally no hints at all.
@@Fennalope Only in DX. Those were added in DX (Which in most ways is actually a worse version, so it becomes pick-your-poison). The OG SA1 didn't even have a map on the pause screen like DX had, and most of the hints and tells weren't there either (Like Cream flying out of the alleyway) until DX.
Honestly, only Unleashed did hub worlds right IMO, and even then I just prefer them not there.
The plot of the game is quite long, since you have both the Hero and Dark stories, then the "True" story.
So basically, to skip through most of it, when Eggman's grandfather shows up, it is explained that Maria (the blonde girl in Shadow's flashbacks) was killed along with his coworkers when he was trying to create the perfect lifeform to help humanity. The prototype for the perfect lifeform was the giant lizard you saw at the end, and the reason Eggman was with Tails is because both teams worked together to stop the space station from crashing into Earth, after everyone does their part, Sonic and Shadow team up to defeat the giant lizard, and after using their power to teleport the station away, Shadow comes crashing down to earth, which is why everyone looks gloom in the ending and why Sonic gave Rouge his inhibitor rings (that Shadow wore on his arms).

Shadow isn’t faster than Sonic, quite the contrary actually. At most they are equals.
Sonic is way, WAAAAAAY more faster than shadow and it ain't even close. He can keep up with sonic when he isn't trying to destroy everything around him with his speed.

Okay so time to splane some things.
The big purple guy that's in the background in most cutscenes is big the cat.
He was in the first sonic adventure and was a playable character.
He wasn't much of a playable character though since most if his gameplay is just fishing for his best friend froggy.
And the gaint lizard thing was the prototype of the ultimate lifeform created by Gerald robotnik who is eggmans grandfather.
He also created shadow too but the biolizaard was only the prototype to the real thing.
And somehow making shadow and the biolizard would cure maria from her unstable terminal illness.
But until the gun military forces went to the colony ark which is the death star looking thing and the military arrested everyone on there but maria didn't survive.
She was shot while trying to send shadow down to earth.
The only thing she had to do was save shadow and give him one last request.
And that request was to protect life on earth.

The haunted level Knuckles was in the Hero story is where Shadow is. That's Pumpkin Hill, but in the Dark Story, Shadow's level is called Rail Canyon, but it's still around where Pumpkin Hill was. You can tell by the mountain backgrounds looking the same and in the stage select map, they are next to each other.
Shadow’s stage is actually called Sky Rail. Rail Canyon was in Sonic Heroes.
The weird purple guy who keeps appearing is Big the Cat. He was a playable character in the first Sonic Adventure game, but had no role in this one, but they still had the model, so I guess they wanted to use it, so cameos.
shadow was created to cure Marias cancer, but she sacrificed herself for shadow. So now Shadow is edgy
Well until the very end of Last Story of his game, he has stopped holding onto her and moved on, that's why he is accepting of GUN in 06.

So the Sonic games Sonic XD and the Sonic Adventures 2 have stories (or playable characters) that overlap one anther. In Sonic XD you could play Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Gama, and big the cat. Big was the worst level.

Big is a bystander, like he's a simple guy who just wants to fish with his buddy, none of the other characters are realistic.
This is the end of the sonic franchise on Sega's own console so that's why there's 2 story's and a true end
Definitely check out Snapcube’s take on the group’s “Sonic 06” dub. There’s much better flow in that game versus this one.
You HAVE to watch the Sonic 06 Fandub
to answer how they sometimes respond to stuff in time. I think they run through the cutscenes one time just so they actually see some of the stuff, they they watch it again and improvise. But I dont think all of them know the plot of the game how the cutscenes are supposed to connect.
You should react to all the other fandubs. They're all as hylarius as this one.
They know when someone’s gonna appear on screen and when to say stuff because they’re dubbing the lines immediately *after* seeing it happen and syncing the footage in post

The big purple cat is... well, Big the Cat. He was a playable character in Sonic Adventure 1 who in general kinda bumbled into the middle of a near apocalyptic event. In Sonic Adventure 2, he makes an appearance in the background of a level, and in it's re-release, players can make him appear in certain cutscenes by pressing a button at the right time.
There is obviously A LOT of missing context. So don't worry about not understanding it.

IF you do the sonic 2006 fandub I would suggest splitting it into parts since I doubt you would want to watch a 1 hour 20 minute video in one recording session that just sounds like too much for all the videos your need to record.

I’m pretty sure the reason why the characters know when to start talking is because the video is delayed by one second when they dub over it, otherwise it would be WAY harder to time when to start talking

I’m pretty Shadow was originally killed in the end of Sonic Adventure 2, but he was such a well-liked character, that they just decided to bring him back in future entries in the series. Don’t quote me on that though, I’m not a dedicated Sonic fan.
Definitely check out more of Snapcube’s vid. Penny and their crew always outdo themselves imo. The Sonic ones are probably their best, though I also liked their “Until Dawn,” one!

Moonquakes are caused by tidal forces from the earth acting on the moon. It warps the moon producing similar grinding to what causes earthquakes, though much weaker.
Apparently I was wrong about the moon being cold though which shattered my entire perception of the damn thing, so apparently I'm a terrible source of information on these topics. It's mostly solid, but not entirely, and does have a liquid outer core (though a solid mantle, which is probably why I thought the whole thing was solid).
For how they time stuff so well, the timing's actually tweaked in post-production to line up better.
I played Sonic Adventure 2 on the GameCube so much as a kid. It's still one of my top favorite Sonic games.
You gotta watch the other real time fandubs, especially since the guy who voices Eggman in these videos does a cameo in some of the Lythero videos you're bound to watch soon.

The basic storyline is Eggman awakens Shadow, who was frozen or something, and then tries to take over the planet, but in trying, he accidentally releases the dinosaur(which was actually the first attempt to make shadow) and so both side work together to prevent it from destroying the planet. Shadow was created as the Ultimate Life Form, meaning he's naturally immune to everything, including various cancers and such. The plan was to use his blood to cure Maria, and eventually the world, but the ARK blew up, Maria died, and Shadow was plunged to earth and frozen. He then sacrificed himself at the end there, but he was so popular with the fans Sega brought him back later, albeit missing his memories of this event and he tries to kill Sonic. yeah the lore is complicated. don't even get me started on the insanity that is Sonic 06

I will answer everything:
Sonic Adventure 2 contains two different story modes.
Hero mode is where you play as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles.
Dark mode is where you play as Shadow, Rouge, and Eggman.
Maria is basically Shadow's best friend. She was killed due to G.U.N. shutting down Project Shadow, which was something that the Government commissioned Dr. Gerald Robotnik, Eggman's grandfather, and the old man you saw near the end. They wanted him to create the "ultimate lifeform". Maria was also succumbing to a disease with no known cure. So Gerald took the job, figuring that the lifeform's DNA could cure Maria. Unfortunately. When Gerald was locked up by G.U.N. he gave Shadow fake memories, and a need for revenge against humanity.
That Purple Cat's name is Big the Cat. He's not really relevant to game.
That Dinosaur thing is one of the prototypes of Project Shadow.

hey, by the way, if you wanna see something else that is Sonic related, I'd recommend watching Nazo Unleashed. it's an old flash animation / movie that was (and still is) held in high regard among Sonic fans. the animation took an unused design for the anime Sonic X, turned that design into its own character and put it in a DBZ inspired animation that blew fans away. the animator (Chakra-X) has been working on a sequel for it for quite a few years.

After looking at this video you seriously need to play sonic adventure 2 in order to gain context. Pumpkin Hill is a memorable stage not only because of the scenery but also the music.

Honestly I hate it when people ascribe creativity to intoxication or highness. That’s just such a reductive and incorrect view of creativity. That kind of altered consciousness is *not* good for the creative process; at least, not unfiltered by sober revision.
If I may recommend something that may or may not be a little more controversial, I'd go with the Absolute Mad Lads series by Count Dankula.
Basically, edgy Scotsman talks about the lives of exceptional people/animals, from historical figures like Blackbeard and Alcibiades to people who are still alive today such as Xu Xiaodong and Simon Mann (both of whom actually saw their respective videos and appreciated Dank's work).
Despite some rather...controversial things Dankula himself has said/done (which is something he does to mess with people and get a reaction and laugh when they get angry), his videos are well researched and made. At the same time, he also does his best to make his videos as entertaining as possible.
In addition, since his entire schtick is being pro-freedom, especially freedom of speech and freedom of expression, he's stated that he's completely fine with reaction videos.
That said, due to a few more gruesome details in some of the videos, monetization might be a bit of a coin flip.
Did you know that good guys can do bad things, and bad guys can do good things! Crazy, right!?
If you haven't, you should do the 06 and Riders dubs. They've got some really good moments
