    I’m not trying to be negative, but everything changes once you have the baby. It’s great that you’ll have a ton of help. Please accept all you can get. You’ll be amazing parents. Children make everything worth it. My husband was against spoiling our twins until they got old enough to ask for stuff. Now he can’t say no. 😂

    As a parent of 3 kids in their 20s, there is one important factor: Compromise! 99% of the time, the mom will be right. Trust her decisions. The most important thing, is that the kids know they can depend on you guys , and you both will be there for them. No matter what. Great video! Love the open conversation with you guys!
    Also, Congratulations!! You guys will be great parents! Its the hardest, but most rewarding job either of you will do.

    As a Mom of four, 7 years old and under, we do not spank and have very well behaved kids. However you have to set expectations for your desired behavior very young and have consequences.
    Also agree with no kissing..my BIGGEST pet peeve is when people touch my newborns hands because that baby inevitably puts their hands in their mouth. Advice: baby mitts/pj’s with hand covers, and baby-wear to family gatherings, that way no one will ask to hold the baby or pass them around 😆 Sounds crazy but you do what you have to do to protect your little one.

    It’ll be cool to react to this video, once the kid will be old enough to understand, and see if you kept the word ahahah.

    I think the best thing we did with our son while he was a toddler was let him make his own decisions. We'd present him with two options and he'd get to choose which he'd rather do. We highly curated them for sure but it gave him confidence, helped with communication, critical thinking, and decision making. He's 8 now and is too smart for his own good. He can problem solve and rationalize things well, and is quite mature for his age. We've never had to spank him ever. We've always used those opportunities to teach him why what he did was wrong and that understanding of making his own decisions helped him understand where he went wrong. Even now, if he does something I don't like, I can look upset or even tell him I don't like when he does that, and he'll know right away and apologize. It's just important to let him know we love him no matter what he does, it's the action that we don't like. As he gets older it'll be more about making the good decisions, but it just scares me to think of the issues we'll have to deal with, and I just hope we set a good foundation. So far, so good. I felt bad yelling at him once because I lost my cool, but I always apologize to him if I know I was wrong. There's no way I could spank him with that same amount of anger. I have to remind myself that everything he does is new to him. We can't expect them to know how or what to do, it's our job to teach them.

      OMG THESE ARE YOUR CHILDREN BE PREPARED.

  • @lavarelliott2478
    @lavarelliott2478 2 месяца назад

    You have to discipline your child from the start. Do not wait till they get "older". By then its too late. The reason is better overall. Why? If you do it from the start they will learn their are consequences to actio s at an early age. So as they get older you will no longer need to "spank" them because the fear or respect for consequences is already instilled in them. Ex. We whooped my daughter from birth never having to go off like when I was a child. The result was the last time we ever had to whoop her was maybe 4 years of age. She is now turning 14 and when we give her a look or tell her no... it is just that we dont have to whoop her anymore. So I really encorage you to discipline your child from birth so they learn consequences hurt. Then hopefully they learn to listen because they have learned. Oh also the number one thing that breeds disobedience is not backing each other up after one of you has advised of or enforced a punishment. If the child sees that mom or dad will overturn a decision/punishment that the other has enforced that child will learn to "cheat" the system because they can get away with it still. If one of you ever questions a decision you take that to each other alone amd if you overturn it you both sit the child down and explain why but the resaoning shouod NEVER be because one parent did not agree wiht the other. I have stories I have observed that still blow my mind and the results are clearly seen in the behavior of their children. Smh. You too seem like you will be great parents just take it one day at a time and show yourselves grace. Remember you may not agree withh how your parents raised you but the end result you are the outc9me of their parenting so something had to be right somewhere along the line.

      Such baseless nonsense. Look into the science behind spanking. Its immoral and doesn't do anything but harm. So many shitty parents basing everything on them thinking they turned out alright so "something must of been right" No facts or evidence to support it.

  • @farab4391
    @farab4391 2 месяца назад +7

    Spanking (non violent and only on the bum) until the child is old enough so that you can reason with it verbally, is not only OK it's crucial. What's more important (at any age) is to make it clear upfront what the consequences are and sticking to them 100%. Warning/threatening you're going to do something when they do something bad and then not doing it, is the WORST thing you can do. This whole approach always seems extreme to people, but when done properly it only lasts a short while because your child quickly learns that actions have consequences and then they won't be exposed to any of those consequences anymore because they don't do the things that lead to them anymore. As opposed to the parents who shout at their kids for 18 years or even worse, the parents who do nothing and just have their kids run wild.

    • @zach9676
      @zach9676 Месяц назад

      Spanking is ONLY violent. You either ignore the science and studies or are completely ignorant of it. Because they are non verbal and cant reason with you is more of a reason NOT to hit your kid. Yes it is HITTING just changing the word to spanking doesn't make the action different. You have no clue what you're saying. It is most certainly not "crucial" to use violence on your children. I'm so sick of this crap that spanking is necessary for children or they will just run around undiscipline, blah blah blah. Its based on nothing but their experience when they were children.

  • @daveyingram8934
    @daveyingram8934 2 месяца назад

    Ya may not have to spank your children, but there must be some kind of discipline to teach children right frog wrong, and so they know there's consequences if they do do wrong. If parents don't teach their kids discipline they'll end up disrespecting their parents, and may end up being really careless, rude, people thinking the world revolves around them. My brother never put a whole lot of effort into disciplining his kids, and as the got older they began disrespecting their parents more and more and got to the point to where my nephew kicked his own dad out of the house, and the mother didn't do anything about it for fear of her own child. my brother has 3 boys two who've served jail time and prison time the third, the youngest, seems to be worse then the older two. Love and discipline is something that every parent must do for their children.

    And BTW.... Spanking "without rage" is one of the best things a child can get from his parents.
