When they made a switch from Resident evil 1 to code veronica (Not 3) and then changed the controls for 4, it was basically the tank controls but more in 3D. At least they kept some core elements from the previous games. This game went full blown in a new direction and alienated the core of RE. capcom aiming towards a new crowd so yeeeeah. I won't spend full price on Resident evil 7 cause it ain't worth it

The more I see of the game the more I get the feeling we are just seeing how all 6 RE games have effected the civilian population. For example we probably going to play as a different character for each location that every RE game has been set at.

The kingding of the RE franchise (for me at least) has to be, without a doubt, RE 2 & 3

people just don't get it. you cried for zombies you got some in re6, you cried for survival horror. now they brought that back and your still crying.. this is a new take on the series, remember resident evil 1, 2, and 3, ? Yeah that's one trilogy with umbrella and zombies.. remember 4, 5 and 6? Yeah that's another trilogy completely different from the original 3, still used a strain of the progenitor virus and became Las plagas that turned people into the crazies for resident evil 4 and 5. re6 had the wannabe t-virus.. this is a new start on the series that's why it's still numbered and not a reboot and is canon still. had resident evil 4 stuck with its original concept we'd have the same looking game and resident 4 probably wouldn't have been known as it is today. same thing with resident evil 5 had it stuck with its original concept it was a different game completely. can't wait to get my hands on this game. fun fact this comes out the same month as the new movie

The more I see of the game the more I get the feeling we are just seeing how all 6 RE games have effected the civilian population. For example we probably going to play as a different character for each location that every RE game has been set at.
Hope this Resident Evil doesn't turn out to be generic like other recent "horror" games. Also this looks like more "horror" than "survival horror" there's a big difference between the two.
Resident Evil fans before RE7:
"WTF?! Too much shooting and where's the horror in these games?"
After RE7:
"WTF?! Too much spooky and where's the shooting in this game?"
and hence why I think they're actually keeping the biohazard in the title is because this is a new take on the biohazard threat obviously it's a new strain whether it's ghost or not which I don't think it's ghost at all we still don't know anything about the game people. the demo isn't even part of the main game which takes place after the events of 6 so who knows what could have happened after since it takes place present day how much time has passed the main characters from the other games could be dead
Im happy that they are trying something new because over the years resident evil hasn't been all that great. so a breath of fresh air hopefully isn't a bad thing.
I think it looks really good and I really enjoyed the teaser from E3. But I hope there will be more mechanics from the older Resi games.
