  • What does it ACTUALLY look like after we buy a video game collection? For the most part, it's straight forward. The items are tested and cleaned when needed, and sent/listed on various platforms. Then, they sell relatively fast. But what about the collections of RARE items? How long do those sit? How long until money is made back? In this video we review 2 collections where we spent $5,000, and see how smart of purchases they were.

    Hey guys! I'm the buyer of the copy of Evolution - Thanks so much for that, it's now sitting proudly on the shelf behind me! I now only have seven left to complete the full set!

    My comment to watched video ratio is likely less than 0.001%, but I really wanted to say that, this video felt FAR BETTER than most of the "here is the collection we bought." Going back & looking at some of the numbers adds so much more & if it isn't too much additional effort, I think it is a worthwhile additional to this format of video going forward.
    Not trying to bash any older videos or decisions made by those putting the effort into the videos for people like me who get something to watch for free. Enjoy both channels regardless, thanks for your time and hope you have a good time.

    Honestly love the behind the scenes stuff that you guys share here. Keep it coming! It's very interesting to see the process you all have with buying and selling since I'm willing to bet you're a large magnitude further along in your reselling careers than a majority of us watching lol. I liked your small process improvement info you've shared in the past, if you can discuss what new small changes you have done that have had a notable impact to the business, that would be great to see and hear.
    I would have bought both collections, seems like a no brainer if you have the cash flow for it. Yes, the lower dollar value stuff may need some additional processing time, but not every sale can be a $1000 home run rare item. Sometimes the $10-$20 base hits add up even though they require a bit more effort...

    I remember a while back Chase said that the highest value items in a-lot are the first to sell, and that is the most true thing that I have seen in every lot I have purchased.

    New to watching you guys! Love the content! I think it would be a good idea to have a series on playing some of these old games. This brings you a younger audience viewing these unique games. My guess is it leads to them wanting to buy and play these games. Without watching you guys they may not understand how cool the game is or what it’s all about, history of we’re gaming has evolved too. This also adds views, new buyers, more demand for the games you get, and fun time for everyone! Just a thought.

    I would've bought both personally. I understand what you mean about inventory sometimes running low and then picking up that one so-so collection. It's a common situation for me -when it rains, it pours, and suddenly you're managing multiple collections at once. That's one aspect of this business I both love and hate-the unpredictability of inventory and the constant balancing act of cash flow and space, trying to grow but not get overwhelmed with piles of stuff! 😄 Good job, and it's really cool to see a Neo Geo collection like that.

    Man, that was rough watching Chase unbox that first collection of just 6th and 7th gen mass produced trash. I could hear the disappointment in his voice. $1200 was definitely too high and it's going to be a lot in labor to get into reasonable profits.

    I wish I'd known about you when my Mother In Law brought up boxes of stuff from husband's childhood. Empty boxes, manuals, NES & SNES games, etc old systems and such not. Ended up trying ebay on a lot of items and just didn't look up a lot or check into some things.

    Thanks for the content, guys! XYAB does seem like a cool vendor, but I do wonder for cables and other peripherals whether customers care that it's not OEM. If you do have any comments/experience to share on that, would be interested to hear. Do you ever get returns over it?

    I would have definitely bought both. Now that I own a brick & motor store, I have a completely new avenue to sell. The higher end lot really intrigues me due to the potential of more trade in inventory that just one game might bring in. Definitely going to sit for awhile in store, but that’s where diversifying with other selling platforms such as eBay and Amazon come into play and help you take things to the next level.

    I'd have bought both, I wouldn't have called some of it "garbage" though as that's an insult to both the person that sold it to you and all your customers that buy those kinds of items.

      But it’s garbage quality wise. Like sports games, not my cup of tea but I know people who like them and none of them like old ones they want the newest ones. Making the old ones garbage. I don’t care if it makes someone sad. If it makes someone sad to call ET on the Atari a garbage game too bad it crashed the industry because it was so bad. Bad is bad

    The NeoGeo collection may ultimately be the better senario. Its a risk, but a calculated one and honestly you may make out better then you previously thought. Plus due to the mint condition, the items may sell faster than you predicted. You most likely have the best condition copies on eBay. Your listings will be the most desirable regardless so long as they are priced right.

  • @thuikl
    @thuikl Месяц назад

    What I do with the quick offers, instead of accepting because an item may not sell quick, is decline and tell the person making the offer the item has only just been listed and I will consider it in a couple of weeks or a month and they should resubmit the offer then (unless the offer is good and I would accept anyway). I also say I think my asking price is already fair. If this buyer has notifications for keywords, ending and selling similar at lower price will get their attention again if the item has zero demand. In the end it all sells anyway. If your finances are such that you actually do build (reinvest) on the slightly quicker turnover then any quick sale may be better.

  • @TimothySmiths
    @TimothySmiths Месяц назад

    I worked for someone listing for them on ebay for 4 years, at times it woould be frustrating how they wouldnt take a quick offer that was fare and then other times just give stuff away in my opinion that i knew we could get more for,. One example of a blunder they did was a saddle of all things that they had purchased, we got a fare offer for it , more than they spent but not as much as they hoped, they turned it down and never got one after, ended up selling it locally for Well below what they paid for it.

    Yes, I would’ve purchased both of those collections. I think it’s good to get inventory when it’s available. One of the first lessons I learned in retail was it’s better to have too much than not enough so if you can afford to do too much then do it maybe also to help you with your Whatnot inventory you could open up a second Whatnot channel and just theme it around something else to help you get rid of, some more of your inventory just a thought

    I offered to assist. I saw you sold a few far too cheap, which is why they sold quicker, others are higher than I the lists I gave you. I sold these exact same items since those are my duplicates you have. It was about $15.9k across about 60 sales between 10/1 to 12-31 last year. Also some auctions are mislabeled. Fixing that may help.

    When you realize that VG collecting is still in its infancy, and that these prices are one day going to look cheap and ridiculous. Don't sell now, or even in 2 years, hold out for the real physical media panic that is coming.

    • @joer7837

      The VG market just had it's first major crash, and is still dealing with the fallout from the WATA grading controversy. The popularity of video games in society is nowhere near its peak, very far from it. The loss of physical is just starting to be felt but just wait, as more and more digital gets pulled from libraries. If you don't possess something, it will be gone or changed.

    How can you say you pay good prices on your buy list when you’re using other people’s games to make a profit? They should just sell on Amazon themselves 🤷🏼‍♂️ cut out the middle man.

    • @highpraise-highcritic
      @highpraise-highcritic 28 дней назад

      Get real. No one is stopping them from listing it except themselves. They didn't do it for any number of reasons from too busy to being uninterested and everything in-between.
      Cleaning, testing, listing, storing, customer support, handling & shipping .. it isn't free, and neither is knowledge. People have put lots of time into learning their niches ... They have to profit to cover these things. Get it? Games would all be in attics and the trash if we waited for everyone to eventually get around to "cut out the middle man" and maximize their profits this way. It isn't going to happen.
      Sorry to be harsh .. but think before being a jerk when your point is already lost in the wind. You do you, but there obviously is no middle-man to your bold lack of understanding of the world.
