    This is the best beginner filigree tutorial I have seen! Thank you so much for sharing and explaining the details. I'm a silversmith and have been interested in this technique. The step by step and explanations are very easy to follow. The possibilities of this gorgeous look are endless. The books and videos are quite expensive, and I am thrilled that you are more interested in the future of this technique and sharing. Well done, sir! You rock! 😊

    I want to thank you for this video, I have seen this element used in several pieces but could not figure out how to make it, until you showed me how. Please post more tutorials, maybe add links of where to get you toola and supplies, for instance the solder spreader?

      Hi! Yes, I am planning some more tutorials. Finding time is my issue 😅 Most tools are self-made, like the solder spreader.

    How wonderful for you to put out these details on filagree making! I have watched a handful of videos on filigree but you giving instructions for the beginners takes the intimidation down a notch. Thank you so very much and what a lovely person you seem to be very humble as well as helpful.

    Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial so generous of you. I'm just starting out on my filigree journey and using sterling silver for the wires at the moment. They aren't as soft to manipulate I find 😊

      Welcome!! When you'll start using fine silver for the inner filigree wire, you'll see the huge difference! 😊

    Thank you for posting this. Your explanation is clear and easy to follow. One question, what is the ratio of power solder to borax? Thank you.

    • @FiligreeArt
      @FiligreeArt  Год назад +2

      Bu weight is 1:1.. nowadays I just eye it. If the solder won't melt nicely, lacking borax 😊

    Thanks a lot for your good explanations. What is the thickness and height of the filigree wire?

    • @FiligreeArt
      @FiligreeArt  Год назад

      Wire is .3mm thick.. it's twisted than flattened (this will depend on your style, I like it flat but not too thin)

    • @liaduckworth9119
      @liaduckworth9119 Год назад

      @@FiligreeArtThanks for the prompt answer. I understood that you twist two wires 3.0 mm. I would like to know thickness of already flattened filigree wire as I do not know how thin it should be. Thank you very much.
