@Uncle Larry- Charlie Rich was a staple in my house when I was younger. My father played that song for my Mother constantly. To this day even after Dad’s passing, she’ll put it on and stroll down memory lane.
Tom what you have created with your youtube channel is a brotherhood of musicians with none of the B.S. from the outside world interfering, that is refreshing. You give us a seat at the table to watch the insights of great musicians time and again....Once again a big shout out to you Mr. Bukovac.....or Uncle Larry....
EVERY TIME you have Gordon on, I have a smile on my face the whole time. He's a National Treasure... And the trip down memory lane with some of the best Country and Western music ever written! This made my day.
I cried watching this 😭 Gordon playing intros to songs my lovely late mum n dad would play non stop i was kinda doing ok untill he played charlie pride behind closed doors 😪 what a beautiful player Gordon is ❤ his feel for the emotion of a certain note 🙏 Thank you both for this journey to a beautiful past I'll never forget RIP Mum n Dad xx
I'm a big fan of uncle Larry...love all of the music I get to hear on your channel...and this guy...wonderful pianoplayer and a great singer...all the way from Copenhagen, Denmark, with gratitude...Klaus.
Unc I just had to pause this @ 2:00 to say thank you for sharing Gordons' talent with the folks that may not know him. He is truly gifted. Your harmony would have made it even better!
Above even the musical wonderfulness from the two of you, it is the friendship that this captures that brings real joy to this Skooler. No comment can thank you enough.
This is really cool Tom! Thanks! That left hand thing is wild. As I was watching it I was thinking 'I guess that's just how he learned how to do it.' Thanks for asking him about it because per usual, and like I've learned from homeskoolin' over and over, most of what you guys do is completely intentional and serves the purpose of making the sound you want to hear. In recent history 'Blues for Rex' a great example. In the intro (at 00:05) before the loop kicks in, you slide into a note with your ring finger. You position your hand so it is very clear what you are doing as if to say 'if you want it to sound cool this is how you have to do it kids.' Or maybe there wasn't a thought at all, but my takeaway was I would have never done it that way left to my own devices and your way is better. Lesson learned. Thanks again!
Uncle,, Gordon has the loveliest touch on the keys I've hear in a long time. He definitely gets it in his soul. thanks for sharing fellas 🏴👍👍👍🥃Respect to you fellas.
Hey Tom! Long time viewer first time commenter. I'm just mostly a cowboy chords and capo strummer but I appreciate your inspiration and your stories and the friends that you introduce. I would love to find out the rest of Gordon's top 5 piano intros. Thank you for everything you do for all of us!
Gordon is the man…… no other words needed… a musical vocabulary like that is mesmerizing. Been hearing those piano parts my whole life and reacting with the same enthusiasm as sir Larry.
This channel is so unique and gives insight into a world that only a handful of people get to experience. I work in the natural gas industry and spend every day in the mountains on a side by side. I have people tell me, on a regular basis that I have the dream job etc, but if they only knew. Since I was eleven years old and started playing guitar, I’d read album covers and wonder how someone came up with a solo etc. Like the pedal steel solo on “Misty” by Ray Steven’s or who did the intro to Hank Jrs “Man of Steel”. I’ve always been mesmerized by studio players and the creative process of creating parts instantly. Anyway love your vids, love this channel. Good stuff man
Hot Damn! Even the snippets are enough to bring tears to my eyes! So beautiful! It's what I Love about the Piano, and the Guitar.. two wonderful instruments that do not need any additional accompaniment! Thanks Tommy!
This videos gave me cold chills the entire time he was playing those old Alabama songs, brought back so many childhood and memories of my dad. Thank you very much for sharing this Tom !!!
Tom wow Man, Thank you for sharing Gordon with us what a True genuine treasure. Your both wonderful people. I believe your generosity has been repaid in spades and that’s what being a human is all about god love ya Tom✌️
Just hangin with Vince and a few legends via RUclips, How awesome. Gordon plays so smooth and effortlessly it's truly mind blowing. One of my favorite things about Vince is that his talking voice is as cool as his singing voice. That's cool to be able to instantly identify him just by hearing him talk or sing, you know Vinny in da house. Gorgeous home too. Baseball been berry berry good to Vince. LOL
Tom, the love and respect you and Gordon have for each other always comes across so clearly whenever you have Gordon on. This, to me, is what Homeskoolin' is all about - the community, the love for music and respect for each other. Ignore all the fools who tell you to do anything different (as I know you will), what you bring to us all is amazing and inspiring just the way it is.
Man Tom and Peeyanna man! This video was such a treat to hear you and Gordon talk of the music and the love of country piano intros. Thank you Tom seriously been laid up and your videos along with Guthrie Trapp and Michael Palmasano have literally turned me into a guitar player not a guy who plays guitar every once in a while. I'm so close to being able to travel, when I can you'll be hearing my music. Thank you Uncle Larry! Seriously thank you saved my life!
That stuff is amazing and wonderful to see!! What fun it must be all you guys playing and talking together!! That's how real music is made!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
I can’t imagine that experience you mentioned in 186. I play guitars every day but I know I’ll get within light years of your place it must be pretty amazing. Thanks for places you take us!
This popped up this morning and I sat down with my coffee to watch. Huge smiles!!! Thanks, Tom for including us in this moment in time! Started my day out right!!! Much love!
Absolute classic Alabama. Always loved that one. I wanted that to keep on going...LOL. Great stuff. I am constantly blown away watching good piano players. It's such a foreign thing as a guitar player.
The world could be a much better place for everyone, if it just had Gordon live streaming on piano 24/7. Gracias Tío Larry, once again
the world also needs ordinary guitar players.
@@dell982 It’s got a steady supply of those already, present company excluded 😆
Uncle Larry + Uncle Gordon = Magic. Warm sounding pianer right there.
" It makes sense when you think about it, but I don't ever think about it ". God bless you, Gordon.
What a gift to humanity Gordon is.
I never would have known about Gordon if it weren’t for you Tom. Thank you both
@Uncle Larry- Charlie Rich was a staple in my house when I was younger. My father played that song for my Mother constantly. To this day even after Dad’s passing, she’ll put it on and stroll down memory lane.
