  • The Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat is one of three wombat species. Their shiny fur and hairy snouts differ them from a Common Wombat. They dig extensive burrow systems with their powerful claws to hide away from the heat and to rest. Although they may not look fast paced, Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat’s can reach a speed of 40km an hour if disturbed.
