20 years later and still loving it
Just to throw my story into the abyss, I discovered this song by accident ages ago, I downloaded a Linkin Parkc song on Limewire lol and got this instead, did some googling discovered it wasn't but I was still pleasantly surprised and had a new song I liked. So much nostalgia behind this song for me, life has been such a ride. If you could have told me what life had in store for me when I first listened to this song, I'd have never believed you

This song should be popular. It's my favourite.
I remember the rumors going around in 2010 saying this was a new Linkin Park song called forget look it up it's still up no ones taken it down
LP never sued Dry Cell. Dry Cell got noticed with the help of LP, for one. The band didn't take off because the father of one of the band members kept bitching to Adam Blue (I think) of Warner that they weren't spending enough on the band for promotion. So Warner dropped them.
Killer tune...Been coming back to this song for 10 years straight. Even though it's a demo, i still treat it like any other popular song.
OMG!!! The singer sounds like Chester Bennington and Jonathan Davis at the same time! Really good song!

Jeff does sound like Chester but then again when Chester screams his voice is extremely scratchy but when Jeff screams his voice is more badass

I forgot all about this song I remembered this song cause I was talking to about Lp chester.
It's a shame I can't find Disconnected or any of these demos in music catalogs today. And Jeff Gutt is one of the few people I can see matching Chester's style - if only he could join Linkin Park.

The song is called living for nothing by dry cell, I'm not sure why every one thinks it's called grape jelly? Either way, regardless of what the REAL name of the song is, it's listed on most sites including iTunes as living for nothing

@linkinxav linkin park and dry cell actually came around at the same time in 1996-98. they were found by the same person at warner brothers. dry cell got signed by warner brothers. their first cd was in competition with linkin park's Reanimation cd in 2002. im sure if people figured about dry cell first, they would of been huge

É o Jeff Gutt quando jovem. As vozes são bem semelhantes mesmo, quando Chester era jovem também. Mas como eu sou um fã de Jeff e Chester, eu já consigo ver a diferença, até nessa musica !

the singer of this bad sounds like chester.... you probably haven't heard their old stuff... they do sound a LOT alike. If i hadn't known better, id think it was LP, i actually did. got a bad download and thought it was LP for about 2 months til i found this...

For the most part, my favorite songs by Dry Cell, Hybrid Theory/Linkin Park, Trapt, etc. are the ones that are a bit different from their usual stuff (and usually prior songs or mixes to what you see in the debut albums). Dry Cell's Advance release album is so much better than the official release, which falls prey to rampant industry over-production. If I want a lot of production in my music, I'll listen to something like Industrial. Otherwise, less the better.
