  • What a beautiful weekend it was! We are extremely thankful and humbled by the gifts and experiences our entire Pupu ‘Ori received during the long road to competition.
No Te Here O Te Hiro’a is under the direction of the whole Kuma family. Our parents Kolei & Linda laid the foundation 50+ years ago, my brothers Kolei and Leo No Te Here Drumming and my sister-in-law Finalavakeiaho and I have guided the group through these past years. We are so so encouraged about the future of our group with the next generation too!
First! Kanani Asuega @KananiLokelaniAsuega was the creative force and vision for all of our performances. She and Kolei Tevita Etoni Kumā trained these dancers and guided them to their potential. She taught them the stories, the tumu parau, and it was her vision we saw on stage.
Ofaloto Kuma is the heart of our music and band. The melodies, arrangements and creativity come from his heart. Ofa and his uncle Leo are the dynamic duo behind our drummers - the passion they have for Tahitian drumming is unmatched. Kaleili Leina'ala Kuma and Salote Isalei Kuma are not only part of the drumming and music teams, they along with Fina and Moonlite Fakava were on costume duties and everything else it takes to get to competition. Mama Linda, our matriarch is 73. Even at her age she worked nonstop for months to prepare us all for our presentation. How can we quit for the night when mama’s STILL working?!
Our Tahitian team that shared the stories and guided us through this journey Noëlle Faahu-vaki Tema HT and Teremu Teuira - we appreciate you sharing your vision, guidance and love as you worked shoulder to shoulder with us as we did this together!
The No Te Here families that sacrificed so much to help everyone, brought food to feed our workers, ran countless errands, loaded/unloaded that trailer 200 times, put their babies to sleep in the costume storage room so they could keep working and showed up with their sewing machines to help are appreciated and loved for their helpful hearts and hands! We could not have made it without all of you!

They're all amazing in their own way, i've notice that they are real natives and not a professional dancers. In a professional performance a fallen costume, props, or anything must not fall or drop and just in case it happen any of the performers must pick it up before the stage be VACANT....
