Ahh dude, I had no idea! I'm just round the corner - any time you want to grab a beer and vent/let off some steam, give me a shout (five years I've lived here and I've still never been to the Twa Dugs!)
Cheers! I stay pretty busy with the kids and everything else going on but I might take you up on that sometime. I'm not a big pub person but unfortunately I don't think there are any coffee shops in all of Europe that are what I would hope for, so I have to adapt lol
Dude, it's a damn shame but glad you're pragmatic about it. What's for ye won't go by ye. You're definitely better off here than the states, whatever happens. Good luck from a single guy in West Lothian who'd been lonely one way or another for years.
I've not moved country- but a couple of years after my life fell apart I chose to move 100 miles to be near my daughter- but away from the life I'd built up over 20 years. It's tough at times, but there's always something there to build a new life upon. Thanks for sharing this film.
I'm so sorry that you and your family have had to go through this. 😢 Ayrshire is a cracking wee place and I'm sure you'll find your way back to happiness. Much love from... (well I would usually say 'Ayrshire', but I'm less than 10 miles south of you, so) ...just down the road. 😊
Hi Peter - I never comment on videos but I wanted to let you know how sad I was to hear what a difficult few years you’ve all had. My condolences on your losses, as well. I can’t imagine how hard it’s been. As one who plans to one day soon make the move to Scotland with my family, I find your videos honest and reassuring. I hope you are taking the time you need this holiday to recharge, leaning into friends and family when you need support, and trusting that there are better days ahead. Wishing you all the best in the new year as your Fresh Start continues in earnest. ❤️
I wish you good luck, health and future happiness in every aspect of your life. I wish I could do more but I also know that someone who can be this open, doesn't really need my help.
My only friend and big sister took her life on Sept 22, 2023. We just purchased a condo together 12 weeks before, lost our angel baby cat 7 weeks before, our other sister had an ectopic pregnancy and was recovering from surgery 10 days before, we got Covid for the first time 2 weeks before on the same day we lost our uncle to cancer. I've never been more alone in my life, she abandoned her last 16 year old cat who is sick and she's my only hope left.
Best of luck in taking things forward Peter everyone feels lonely at times and yes hopefully things will get better. So sorry to hear about your marriage I'm sure you've already put lots of effort into it but.... As for coping with loneliness, throughout the UK there are things you can get involved with, why not try some of them. Random suggestion do you have a church with bells near you? they may well welcome a biginer ringer, just a thought. Friendship will not leap out fully formed but hey get to know some new people and see where it leads. Best Wishes
