My iPhone SE2 just turned 3 this year and to be frank, it's a decent phone with a budget price tag so I couldn't really complain much besides its abysmal battery life - I'm a power user and I need to charge it twice a day, could've went with the mainline iPhone models. About its current day to day performance, it's starting to show its age as evident in the low battery capacity and the occasional overheating issues. But when it was first released, it's a great budget phone, coming from someone who used android.
Overheating ? Maybe in heavy gaming, in normal using not. And battery life, still can 5 hours SOT on mobile data easily.
I’m on the 13 mini and omg the battery life is so much better. The SE2’s battery life is somehow worse than my 6 year old 8’s.

I ordered me an iPhone 2 that I’ll be getting by Thursday and it is an unlocked version to work with all major carriers as my returning the big 14 pro max that I don’t need anymore as I don’t need an expensive phone to make those monthly payments on, I like that the SE 2 have the home button and an Physical SIM Card slot.
I got my iPhone SE 3 on Christmas and it’s one of the best iPhones in my opinion

I just returned my iPhone 15 plus and got a new iPhone SE3. I love it
5 yrs old ip8 here, with 80% health left and its still runs like new. Battery holds like champ considering for what it is.
My iPhone 8 is at 86% health, lasts only a half day, but it works flawlessly.
I’m one of the 10% of people who can’t use OLED due to PWM, so the SE 3 is the only new iPhone I could buy 🫤
The SE 2 is a reasonable second-hand buy, but I think I’d go for the 11.
A battery case would be pretty important to get with the SE.

@@jannieschluter9670 it stands for Pulse Width Modulation, and to break it down it essentially means that instead of giving something more or less power, you always give it the same power but flash it on and off very quickly. Then, depending on how quickly you pulse it (this is where the pulse width comes from), it has the effect of more or less power. In things like lamps and screens, this can lead to flickering, which some people are very sensitive to, and thus can get headaches. That is also why if you look at camera footage of fluorescent lamps, the light will seem to be flickering.

Bought mine used a year ago. Battery capacity down to 74% now. Have new battery ready to install. Appreciate the small size, home button and wireless charging. I don't need or want more than this. It's a winner!
Hey, since you got a new battery installed how's the battery life so far? Not like I'm a very heavy user just ocassional messaging, music listening and scrolling through tiktoks from time to time. Asking this cause I've seen so many people in the comments on different videos saying that it's so atrocious that you shouldnt be considering it at all. But I'm considering it to be my first iPhone whilst also being a low-budget-friendly option.
Plenty of how-to vids on battery replacement. I used microwave heated jell bag thingy to soften glue. Seems best to start prying on lower right hand corner. Go easy and slow. There is a clip at top edge of screen so slide down slightly before lifting up. You really don't need to disconnect screen. Improvise a gig to hold screen to support on edge. Masking tape can help hold screen in place while removing battery. @@retronick_

My main phone broke, so I took the iPhone 6s running iOS 15… and apart from the battery, a usable phone. I’m tempted to get a SE because of the price.
Btw, iOS 15 is still getting security updates, unbelievable.

I ended up getting an iPhone SE two for $400 sealed Canadian unlocked 64 gig black as I missed placed my pixel seven I do do you like the compact of this device and what offers I was looking into the higher phones but way too much money for what they are. I do enjoy this phone and would recommend it to anyone.

I just bought this phone yesterday. It's on its way. I recently just bought the 2020 MacBook Air with M1 and I love it. I have the Samsung S10 cell phone but I"ve had it for almost 3 years but the Bixby is making me nuts. I jumped at the SE 2 because it works with my wireless carrier. Love my MacBook and realized with that item how well Apple products are made and so when I noticed the phone for the price, I couldn't resist. I'm not a gamer and I don't take many photos or videos so this product will be fine.

I just got one yestrrday, my iPhone 11 kicked the bucket. I like the size, I have arthritis so can't deal with a huge phone. I'm not a power user so not bothered about a huge battery either. So far loving it, nice and diddly.

I still use my iPhone 8 daily. No complaints, only that battery health is at 86%.
One of the last good phones, at insanely good value, with most of the benefits of both older and newer phones. A smaller screen that is easier to use, but bezels means that it still has more room for hardware than most mini phones, and a home button with fingerprint sensor (was very useful during COVID). Also a pretty damn durable device, and overall just the most convenient to use as a smartphone.
I wonder if the SE 4 will mark the end of non phablet and non-borderless displays. A shame because I dont like phablets, or screens that go to the corner.

Me too and I do play games, and it runs anything on max settings. Only problem is the small screen and the battery if you're playing on the go

This is my secondary phone and I would say that for its price is currently the best economic option since Android would not find a device with such a powerful processor for that price, the bad thing is its battery and sj obsolete design, but if you do not mind walking with a portable charger there should be no problem

@@bigmaxccnah. If ur buying new, then I somewhat agree with u, however, I bought my 128GB SE 2 for 60 euros. It has a broken back glass but I slapped a rubber cover and it’s doing amazing! It lasts me 4-5 hours on battery but, I carry around a power bank so the battery issue is solved. Overall, worth it if ur buying it used.
Since then, battery has actually degraded significantly. Phone lasts me 3-4 hours on continuous use.
I still use a 6s and it runs all my apps and works completely fine with no issues or slowdowns. it even still gets security updates and supports all the apps in the app store, i got a high capacity replacement battery on ebay for cheap so it lasts me all day now. so if the 6S is still usable the SE2 definitely is. I own both but use the 6S because i prefer to have a headphone jack.
I got the se 2 recently i just like the homebutton and ios updates. 6s is definitely my favorite phone tho

I’m thinking is this iPhone SE ( new) a good idea for basic needs compared to getting say a new Samsung A54 with a larger display and battery for about the same price?
Both do the job very well. After years of large screen Moto phones I sucked it up price wise a couple years ago and switched to an IP13 Pro Max just for the screen size I was used too. But I’ve bought 2 SE’s for older family members moving to a smartphone for the first time so they could also have FaceTime and they have worked well. Very powerful just small screen. My Mom tho has always had Samsung and just wants to keep everything familiar. I last gave her an A52 for Christmas a couple years ago and it has been flawless too

Even the SE 3 needs a top up sometimes to be safe. I cant imagine the SE 2 now especially on iOS 17 where the batter is worse than 16...

3 days ago i got this phone as my first ever iphone and i really don t know what to say. My old phone actually used to have longer battery duration and the battery life dropped from 100 to 99 already even though i just got it. I mean i carry a charger or powerbank like constantly and i dont really have complaints except of the battery but to be fair i am thinking a bit of returning it because battery kind of matters to me and i heard that the battery life was supposed to drop like after months not days of use and i need this phone to last for the next years but i don t think it can....
Replace the battery and I can guarantee it will last like day one

I have an SE2
I bought a used Se 2nd 128GB last week and for me is pretty good. But unfortunately when I bought the phone the battery health is already degraded to 74. Except the battery performance, other thingy goes good.
I got mine 64gb 4 days ago on 94% battery health
Mines at 80 close to 3 years of use. I still get 6 hours screen time of RUclips. It’s still good guys

That 30 minutes, probably in a month for me.. I rarely ever do voice calls and never do video calls..

That's a huge overestimation, most people spend weeks if not months without calling a single soul, or getting any calls aside from telemarketing, of course that changes if you need to call people in your profession, but those professions are dying, or at least changing to text.

My se2 would only last 4 hours after 3 years of daily usage, I would not recommend it any more as the screen too small and small battery but it is a bit fast for an dinosaur of a body
I got my se2 a week ago just for 90 dollars which is 7.5k rupees, it’s good and fast and the size is so handy.

@unrealguy.. I'd say, look at the specs and see what you prefer. The se2 just stopped getting updates. Some phones have a better camera but worse battery, so realistically, what do u want to use it? Your phone has better battery and everything over all even an amoled scren where as the se is lcd.

i have se 2022. its good, but game can make its battery health down. after 1 year mine are 93%
The battery is the main reason I would not recommend this phone.
The rest is good for a regular phone as expected.

It depends. However generally the capacity is 80% or above, which is optimum condition. Probably won't be at 100% but you never know. Could be 80%, could be 99%. Either way it will function similarly

For what these SE 3rd gen go for used, ~$200 or under at times, I don't think there's anything more powerful for the price. I did the frugal soul searching of a lifetime for awhile, narrowed it down to the SE3, Galaxy A15 5g, Moto G Stylus 5g, new Moto G Play 2024 or Pixel 6a all in my pretty firm ~$200 and under list. My SE3 will be arriving in a few days, from actual user reviews and tons of reading, the androids in this price range have a host of issues ranging from poor performance/ram, poor support update cycles, and/or poor to not much better or about the same battery life the SE3 gets anyway. I was intrigued by the A54 but am unwilling to pay the ~$350-450 it goes for unlocked, could only find some tracfone ones somewhat cheap in the ~$170 range but those need to be used for 2 months of service to even unlock them which kinda killed it as I need a phone asap right now...From actual user reviews, they claim the A54 only gets like 6 hr SoT anyway, kinda crazy with its way bigger battery it and other androids only manage that or a bit better. My SE2 2020 2nd gen's battery is beyond abysmal 2.5 years into ownership, and was honestly never that great when I got it refurbed in Jan 2022. I'm talking about about 1 hour SoT if I'm actually using it, it is an absolute battery guzzler from hell on LTE data, I felt rather chained to the charger cable even at home on wifi as well. The poor battery showed its ugly head during some recent power outages which ended up sucking my battery banks down much quicker than I thought. The Moto phones seemed amazing for new unlocked decent for the money specs until I saw how paltry the support cycle was for them. Although someone could make the argument for them that they're so cheap in a couple years you could just get the new cheap Moto model and still come out tons ahead versus buying a sky high cost flagship these days....never in my life will I be able to justify $1000+ for a phone, especially in this crummy inflation hell economy we now live in. At least me personally, I also wouldn't feel comfy trying to daily drive an android with anything less than 6gb ram. I am very frugal but unless it's a life or death circumstance, I at least try to use stout specs for a phone since I keep them many years. I appreciated this review genuinely, I was pleased to see unless very zoomed in, on daylight shots, not much difference between the SE3 and newer more expensive iphones, video not a ton of difference for my occasional use either.

Camera is still excellent, still can compare with this year midrange android (something like galaxy a54.). Only in lowlight struggle .

I got the used iphone se 2020 for 100 bucks for traveling. I think its an excellent backup phone if you are going to a third world country. Biggest weakness for this phone is battery life. So an extended battery case would fix it.

I got a 6.5 in screen on my Android, which is ridiculously big for me. As much as I try not to drop it, it's inevitable at that size if I'm trying to handle it with one hand. I really want a smaller phone 😢
