- In this episode you will see our journey from Srinagar to Sonamarg, It takes about two and a half hour one way journey to Sonamarg and same time to come back.
In the last episode you saw the activities that we did during the journey of Srinagar to Doodhpathri.
This video was shot on 19th April 2023, below are the activities we did throughout the day.
Waterfall Restaurant: This restaurant is near Sind river side. We had breakfast here, landmark for this restaurant is WYL bridge.
Aloo Paratha Rs 60
After this we continued our journey towards Sonamarg which is about 80 km away from Srinagar.
In between we see the Z Morh Tunnel which leads to Sonamarg. Tunnel work is still under construction, expected to complete by end of 2023.
Sonamarg: It is a hill station located in the Ganderbal District of Jammu and Kashmir, India. This is also a great base camp for Ladakh. We did snowboarding here.
People used to trek from Sonamarg Kashmir Great Lake, Naranaag and Pahalgam. Best time to visit Sonamarg is June, July and August. We had a great time at Sonamarg.
Hotel Sonamarg Palace: We had lunch here.

They also provide rooms too.
Tariff Rs 4000 for double occupancy including breakfast.
We reached Srinagar at night and had dinner at Pushpa Restaurant

Pindi Chana Rs 200
JKTDC property - I have not visited JKTDC property at Sonamarg but i am told that JKTDC has good property here.

I have stayed in sonamarg it was a completely good experience I enjoyed the early morning sunrise and evenings sunset too... Best thing about Kashmir trip is u will get good food whether it is veg/non veg both are delicious

Lovely !! 🙂 You could have stayed there for at least 1 night :-) We went to Sonamarg last June (but did not experience the snowfall as you did) and stayed at "Hotel Sonamarg Glacier" for 2 nights. In your next destination "Pahalgam", try to stay for atleast 2 nights for local sightseeing and to explore the places around like Chandanwari, Aru Valley, Betab Valley etc. Happy Travelling in Jannat e Kashmir !

Calgary, CN is associated with terms like snow fall, treck, sledging, Food and natural beauty. I never went to Kashmir but can completely compare and correlate on many grounds. Beautiful indeed.
Always in mind, Kashmir has been so blessed with natural beauty but the dark side is the Kashmir files which really makes heart heavy.
Our people were brutally threatened, now Govt should start up with good accommodations hotels and food, instead one feels more safe. Hindu people would be the owners of tourist essentials, mandatory usage itineraries or likewise.
I personally prefer dealing with our own people who we can trust. Things would be better and better in future.

What a beautiful place. I loved it very much
We stayed there at tranquil retreat.
Tarrif was nearly 8000/- per night.
But hospitality was too good and we were stuck on amarnath on 8th August 2022 flood we got late but they don't charge extra.
Really pleased with the attitude.
