Hardcore players want the game to succeed, but also pretend it’s okay to require thousands of hours to reach endgame, and turn their nose up at casuals who quit after a few weeks after realising what one must do to make meaningful progress. No normal person is willing to wait 2-3 years to access content being released today. Until that changes, the game will always be a meme in the West.
Endgame shouldn't be easy to reach, just because everyone wants to reach it doesn't mean it's justified. IN fact the game is already easy to reach endgame in gms reboot, far easier than other regions. That's why nexon has a very hard time keeping new bosses and content up to date for endgame players and why endgame players just sink meso into their mules because they've already beaten every relevant boss.
@@anonymousl5150 yes, endgamers are typically waiting for new content, but they are statistically less than 1 in every 10,000 players. There are MAYBE 1000 people on the entire planet who are able to jump straight into new zones, new bosses etc., and that's a generous guess. So of course the devs aren't rushing to provide them with new content - it literally doesn't make sense to devote so much of your resources to
This is a glass half empty view, the game does value your time, infact, time is the most valuable asset in this game. The more time u put in, the bigger the output of gains. I believe thats why there is a player player base that loves this game. The p2w aspect was heavily voiced against, and the player base won. It's freaking hilarious how this fiasco played out. No not by Nexon, expected their actions. But the content creators is what surprised me. Athyris that cried on stream about how Nexon is killing the game jumped back into the game the second Nexon's memo came out. Thomps that made a long video about how he's quitting and uninstalled the game also immediately got back into the game once the memo is out. Like C'mon...The note was calling the content creators to overreacting to the test server and with 0 dignity they accepted it. I can't believe it tbh.
The reason people and creators were upset was bc of the cap. Since the cap was removed due to player feedback, those creators you mentioned returned. It was a huge problem and the playerbase won and were extremely happy about it. Not that hard to understand.
@@TheGRERF Ha. No. Go actually watch their videos. They are outraged at how Nexon is monetizing 6th job at the expense of the players and as a result ruining it. The same creators also conveniently lump reg server issues into the list of their "fix it or I quit list" but throws it all away once the cap is gone. The thing is we didn't win the monetization war. They will introduce the booster soon and this time people will just accept it having experienced the droprate of sol erda fragments. The fact that you forgot all about the booster and only remember the cap is the exactly what Nexon wants.
i wish there was a way to send this video to wongki, amazing video, and really good critiques and improvement ideas, the communication between nexon and player base should be increase in a way we could improve the game that we like.
I don't give a shit about any of that but as a reboot player I was hyped to start 6th job and have a lvl 250 buccaneer and everything else is 210. I started a new shadower main and was blown away with how difficult it is to level now. Normally I'd be at chu chu island in a day on a hyper burning character, it's now a few days since I started my character and I'm only 203. I don't have a lot of time for grinding, like I've a life. So I limit myself to 3 hours a day and fuck like, it's looking like it'll be months before I see any 6th job skills on my characters. I MASSIVELY regret not levelling my buccaneer to 260 before I burnt out, but hindsight is 20:20. I wouldn't mind, but knowing I have the damage to one shot lachelain mobs and being stuck farming tranquil erda cuz I don't even have reverse city yet is heartbreaking. If they just removed the level requirement for going to arcane river areas, maybe even just on accounts that've already done the questlines. It would make a world of difference.
Recently came back to try the 6th job update and WOW. I have never played such an anti-player game. It feels like every system and mechanic is working against you to discourage multiplayer and make things as tedious and inconvenient as possible for no reason. There is barely a semblance of the party quest centric community game it used to be.
this is my opinion on why the game is on a a HUGE downhill speedrun the only reason why people stick to this game is the hours we put in the friends we make along the way but the game itself i basically 1 huge solo game.
Wanted to add that I am playing OSRS Leagues IV as well. Man that is such a good game mode. That's actually how progression is supposed to be with content to do from early game all the way till late game raids. Enjoying it thoroughly.

Sounds like I got it right. My whole point is that they need separate and stronger leadership to appeal to global market in the global version of the game… new captain at the helm and all that
Many people including you are overreacting to what Nexon has done. They've made the daily for sol erda very powerful, most people haven't seen the calculations to know how good it is. This is why they felt justified in placing a cap. To satisfy hardcore grinders, they removed it and this basically makes us a much faster progression version of KMS which also lack drop familiars to match the fragment and energy rate. While there are a billion things to complain about with Nexon, this isn't one of them but at least the outrage has produced a great result for GMS. Only thing I agree with is that the early to mid game experience of Maplestory is terrible. Hence the terrible retention rate. New players get lost easily and not many reliable up to date resources are out there. Clearly it's been neglected despite events handing out fast ways to progress legion.
I could see where you are coming from with your first point if they did not simultaneously plan to release a booster that increased the cap. I do agree that a daily is a good idea, and a very positive outcome was reached for Reboot. Haha no need to agree with me on everything. Glad you watched through and thank you for providing your thoughts!
