Jeff's been real busy lately, but he heard me watching your 458 maybe sell video. He heard me yell "No Dan keep it". He wants you to know that even though the 458 has gone up in price, he thinks you'll regret it forever. You have your perfect dream car, might never happen again. You don't want to kick yourself over and over again for years to come...
I hear ya, but at the same time I need to do what's best for my business. Sometimes you have to sacrifice now for a better tomorrow.

Excellent article Dan, very informative. I was very lucky the last owner of my 458 just dropped in F1 Ipe Exhaust and Sport cats so i didnt have to drop all that dough. It's probably the most favorite part of my car

I will have to click on the article you have linked to hopefully get some answers. The questions that I come away with are things like the difference between an X over pipe and an H pipe.
My recollection of early hot rodding was that cars with smaller diameter exhaust would get a lot of bottom end but would do a thing called loading up where you could not get enough air to go through the engine at the top end. Also, a smaller exhaust would tend to heat up the engine more so you only wanted to drive a car like that for short distances like a quarter mile for example.
The larger diameter exhaust that you typically find in newer cars offers zero backpressure and letting off the accelerator will by some unknown magic actually accelerate the car, or at least that is the way it seems. I long for the good old days of 12 to 1 pops-ups where when you let off the throttle the car takes a nosedive of deceleration.
Another gizmo that I do not understand is resonators. I have watched videos where there dramatically improve the tone of the exhaust but how they work their juju is a complete mystery to me.
Then there is the turbo bleed-off valve with all of its belching and farting all over the place, what is with that thing? In case you haven't noticed I do not like compressors and think that they are an engine-building shortcut for beginners.
Have you seen the exhaust on the new T-50? (Be still my beating heart) What a magnificent work of art, how did Gordon do it? More importantly, how do I do it? LOL
Yeah, the technical stuff requires dyno time and a more scientific approach. I don't have the tools to prove it.

I am contemplating getting this done for the first time and would like your insights on what makes a good wrap burg from a the techniques that prospective shops use, as well as the products (good and less good) that are in use. Anything you can share would be appreciated immensely!

I agree. That is why you drive one. A Ferrari's engine noise makes the need for viagra a definite zero. I am currently saving money to buy a villa next to the Ferrari factory. Dan on the subject of Ferrari why don't you and Adam do a Ferrari VS Porsche video? Basically you park both cars in a busy street and ask 50 people which of the 2 will they buy if they had the money. It will make some interesting content especially between young and the older age groups. Ohh the villa is just a dream but I will love to have one

Your dream is closer than you think, I went to Maranello/Fiorano, there are tons of modest flats all around the track, just get up a couple of floors so you can see over the fences :) I bet you could find a solid AirBnB. Check out the museum too, super awesome!

That is how I drove the Ferrari F430, the first Ferrari I drove. I liked the directness of the steering and how easy it was steer with the throttle. The sound was a disappointment, not as appealing to me as the F355. I feel the 458 with a good exhaust is right up there with the F355, only a little deeper and sharper? I could settle for a 458 with a good exhaust like Dan's, instead of the F355, that I love LOL.
Discuss options that increase the value of a car going forward, like carbon ceramic brakes, rather than add no value for a future sale

7:00 - NO. Catalytic convertors DO NOT restrict 'horsepower' (and by that, we know you actually mean 'gas flow' following the science and engineering of Fluid Dynamics) if they are correctly designed correctly in the first place regarding the entrance and exit cones that expose the whole face of the catalyst honeycomb matrix to the incoming hot gas flow. What they do, when designed correctly, is allow the hot gasses an expansion chamber and a chance to pass heat in to the catalyst matrix while it causes the chemical reaction that removes the most toxic carcinogens from the exhaust gasses.
It is a popular MYTH that Catalytic convertors reduce the output power of an engine. They do change the sound, because of the harmonics of an expansion chamber, but frankly, the turbo impeller breaks up the sound pulses a lot more then a catalytic convertor will.
Ask this simple question: "How much money do you think Ferrari (et al) put in to getting good gas flow through them?"
All removing them does, is flood everyone behind you with cancer causing toxins, which in the US, is probably a winable lawsuit by someone with lung cancer who follows a cat-delete car in traffic on a day to day basis.
The Myth, was started from when Catalytic Converters were first added to Unleaded cars, at the same time as other Emissions tech that strangled the power output - idiots with no understanding of the physics blamed the convertors instead of the poor emissions systems that fed too much exhaust back in to the inlet. Those early poorly designed convertors used the same housing as mufflers (because the major manufacturers are cheapskates) and so only the center of the convertor was exposed to the gas flow In The Seventies!

Why does a car instantly dyno higher than when the cats are changed to sport cats or catless? I agree there are better and worse flowing cats with same emission reducing ability, but to suggest a straight pipe will not be as free flowing as a typical well designed cat is ridiculous. But, prove me wrong, put in a link to a journal article that says I am an illiterate Neanderthal.
